한국과 중국의 대중문화 교류의 명암(明暗): 영화공동제작의 사례 분석

Abstract

한국과 중국의 수교 이후 그 어떤 분야보다 문화, 특히 대중문화의 교류는 눈부시게 성장하였다. 대중문화 교류는 서로에 대한 국민적 이해와 호감을 높임으로써 한중 관계를 더욱 친밀하게 하고 있다. 그러나 2천년대 들어서 대중문화 교류는 양국 간 문화갈등을 일으키는 중요한 요인으로도 작동하고 있다. 본 연구는 대중문화 교류의 이러한 이중적 결과가 민족국가에 포섭된 대중문화의 한계에 있다고 본다. 이에 기반하여 본 연구는 대중문화 교류의 가장 발전적이고 제도화된 형태인 한중 영화공동제작의 사례분석을 통해서 현재 한중 대중문화 교류가 갖고 있는 민족국가적 한계를 보다 구체적이고 실증적으로 파악하고자 한다. 그리고 궁극적으로는 민족국가의 경계를 넘어서는 아시아문화의 태동 가능성을 생각해 보고자 한다. <영어 초록> Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and China, cultural exchanges are rapidly deepening. Generally, cultural exchanges stimulate a form of trust between the nations, thus, weakening cultural conflicts. However, recent cultural exchanges between Korea and China reflected intensified cultural conflicts. The fundamental reason for this phenomenon can be contributed to nationalism arising from cultures that confine themselves to political boundaries of East Asia. Therefor this paper seeks for possibilities of co-existence and sharing of cultures between Korea and China through a case study of co-production of films.
