dc.description.abstractThis paper presents an experimental investigation of a new configuration of cold-formed steel and concrete beamin which two lipped C-channels and steel plate were connected to each other to form U-shape steel profile. In the proposedcomposite beam, the channel flange can resist the vertical shear force and prevent the longitudinal slipping between steelbeam and the filled concrete, thus reduce the excessive costs due to installation of the headed shear stud connectors. Twoside plate are installed to improve the flexural strength of the proposed composite beam. Ten specimens are prepared andtested under 4-point bending, in which thickness of the lipped C-channel, tensile reinforcement ratio, and composite action.All test specimens exhibited a typical flexural failure. This paper also examines the accuracy of the current design equationsfor determining bending capacity of the composite beam. The obtained experimental results were compared with plasticmoment resistance predicted by KDS 41 30 10:2019en_US
