Abstract
Any artistic expression is accompanied by color, which is not only the most basic sensory experience but also an expressive function with physical and emotional attributes derived from the social environment and cultural elements. Color is the process that helps the observer identify objects, and the retrieval of image information from memory is done at the level of vision. At the level of visual perception, color helps in the separation of objects and the segmentation of scenes. The experience of color has two different channels of entry: one is observed in the visual representation of the hue, the other is the visual embodiment of the essence of color implemented into the visual passive color experience. The other is the experience in which the observer knows the attributes and meanings of color, a collection formed by the color and cultural dimensions, which becomes an active color experience under a comprehensive effect. Color embodies the characteristic of having the nature of visual expression symbols as a kind of visual symbol that shows the symbolic significance, cultural significance, and emotional significance of color. Therefore, the visual perception of color is not only the visual expression of color itself but also the transformative influence between color and psychological construction to form emotion. This study is a semantic representation of the visual perception of color to help observers make judgments about the visual perception of objects in the environment. According to the properties of color, color constancy, and color categories to gain insight into the function of color in visual perception. The common denominator of the research areas is the close connection between color, the recognition of objects, and communication between observers. The design principles and methods of transforming visual expressions of color used between similar art cultures are of research importance. The necessity of this thesis research is to study the expressive function of color as a visual symbol based on the visual expression of traditional Chinese color. Through the semiotic theory, which analyzed Chinese traditional art as a symbolic carrier to direct the symbolic significance of color to the object with relevant characteristics, the symbolic significance of color in Chinese traditional art in the object signifies concretization. The study proposes a clear specification of the symbolic significance of color, which is clearer and clearer for the effect of the color visual expression function. Bridging the surface characteristics in the early stages of color visual perception and environmental elements in the known stages of color visual perception and the subjective visual representation of color to build a bridge to communicate color. This study begins with a collation of relevant literature on color theory and color application and an exploration of the current state of research on color, color norms, and color system perspectives. The relationship between color vision and color type is explored through semiotic theory, pointing out the symbolic significance of color and the proof that color system shaping has possibilities. Color as a symbol can consciously guide diffuse thinking, as well as the symbolic significance and visual expression it has. Therefore, ① The visual expression and application of traditional Chinese color is a process of multi-level action, which is a dominant and complex presentation in a particular stage. The generation of expression at the emotional level of color can be understood as the grouping and use of color according to the categories of things. ② color as a symbol, and the construction of symbols is constituted by a series of dichotomous and opposing concepts. The relationship between the opposing concepts constitutes the basic structure of color and symbolic significance. ③ Social and cultural elements apply cultural codes of understanding and trust to the target element for communication. The regional division of the visual symbolic significance of color is proposed as the importance of this study. First, the sources of visual perception of color are conceptualized as relatively enduring color meanings and relatively more changeable color meanings. Second, color in traditional Chinese art is programmed as an informative expression of the symbolic significance of color in terms of specific cultural and social elements. Finally, the symbolic significance of color arises from the assumption of basic principles, with cultural elements determining color categories that can be considered symbolic expressions of feelings, ideas, and values. The color system is composed of the following: The following figure shows a model based on the theoretical process of the color system. To verify the rationality of the purpose of this study, as well as the feasibility of the research methodology and the trustworthiness of the measurement basis. The survey was based on the research setting of three questions and six hypotheses, and two preliminary surveys were conducted. Based on the collection of subjects, data recording, analysis of the results, and content evaluation of the preliminary survey (1), a measurement tool was set, and the criteria for the completion of the preliminary survey (2) were completed. To effectively analyze the data information thus obtained. The questionnaire for this study applied the linear regression method of SPSS software for the statistical analysis of the questionnaire. Differences were analyzed by the significant differences between the results of the pre-survey and post-survey of the corresponding specimens and the results of the pre-survey and post-survey by the experimental group. The research results in the understanding and interpretation of color, visual expression, and symbolic meaning in a specific cultural and social context of color and emotional elements. In the color system, the symbols of color's visual expression function play an important role in influencing emotional factors. The research work shows the study of the symbolic meaning of color and how it shapes the visual perception of color. Semantics is the result of the categorical nature of color visual perception, which helps the observer make judgments about the visual perception of objects in the environment. object color properties, color constancy, and color categories to gain insight into the function of color visual perception. This study not only provides insight into the theoretical framework of color systems but also emphasizes its potential for practical applications in different fields. The in-depth study of the color system clarifies various aspects of color properties, perception mechanisms, and cultural influences. This researcher believes that the symbolic significance of color defines color from the perspective of visual perception and cognitive psychology rather than from color itself. The idea of guided visual expression of color and semantic expression of emotion is the need for modern design. Color digital image technology has become an indispensable tool in various fields. Through digital methods, people can record and express color more precisely, making color expression richer and more diverse. In this context, the study of the symbolic semantics of color has become more and more important, because only through a deep understanding of the semantics of color can we better use color to express emotions and convey information.
