한국 사회의 에로스 자본과 낭만적 사랑

한국 사회는 전통적으로 유교적인 형태의 사랑이 주를 이루어 왔다. 여전히 그 형태가 곳곳에 남아있지만, 세계 각국의 문화 교류가 거칠 것 없이 활발한 지금은 많은 것이 바뀌었다. 사실, 이미 서구에서는 20세기 말 무렵, 낭만적 사랑과 에로티시즘에 관한 논의가 진행되었다. 2-30년 정도 차이가 나긴 하지만, 한국도 이제 많은 부분에서 비슷한 논의를 할 만큼 성적 개방이 이루어졌다. 이에 따른 문화컨텐츠의 시대 반영은 당연한 수순이다. 이 연구는 에바 일루즈가 서구 사회를 바탕으로 이루어 놓은 성과에 기대어 한국 사회의 ‘낭만적 사랑’을 엿보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 에바 일루즈는 ‘낭만적 사랑’이 자본주의 사회에서 어떤 위치에 있는지 분석한다. 종교를 대체할 만큼의 이상적 가능성을 내포한 사랑이 실상 자본에 의해 현실로 끌어내려지는 지점을 포착하고 있다. ‘에로스 자본’은 끌어내려진 사랑의 증거로, 낭만적 사랑의 이상이라는 껍데기조차 사라진 시대에 육체적 쾌락만을 추구하는 현 시대를 관통하는 자본의 형태이다. <마스크걸>에서는 ‘에로스 자본’을 갖지 못한 자들이 어떤 방식으로 사회에서 소외되고 발화하는지를 보여준다. 이는 일면 한국 사회 내에서 발생하는 각종 범죄 사건들을 조명하고 있는 지점이기도 하다. <나의 해방일지>도 ‘에로스 자본’이 통용되는 한국 사회의 모습을 투영하고 있지만, 거기에서 그치지 않고 새로운 방식의 사랑인 ‘추앙’ 관계를 제시함으로써 이상적 사랑의 가능성 논의를 전개한다. 흥미로운 지점은 <나의 해방일지>가 ‘추앙’의 실현 가능성에 대한 근거로 ‘과거’의 한국 사회를 불러온다는 점이다. 시차가 존재하는 리얼리즘을 활용하여 대안적 사랑을 제시하는 것이다. ‘낭만적 사랑’이 가진 유토피아와 현실의 ‘경계성’은 막연한 가능성을 희망하게 하지만, 결국 유토피아를 실현할 수 없음에서 오는 부정적 뉘앙스가 짙다. 그러나 <나의 해방일지>가 제시하는 추앙은 유토피아가 아닌 헤테로토피아로 그 경계를 모호하게 전환하고, 나아가 결말 또한 열어둠으로써 그 경계를 한층 더 옅게 만들었다. 이는 시청자들로 하여금 나도 저런 사랑을 시도해볼 수 있지 않을까 하는 실제 가능성을 만들어준다는 점에서 추앙에 관한 분석은 그 의의를 가진다.

Korean society has traditionally been dominated by Confucian forms of love. Although the form still remains everywhere, much has changed now that cultural exchanges between countries around the world are active. In fact, by the end of the 20th century, discussions on romantic love and eroticism had already taken place in the West. Although there is a difference of two to 30 years, Korea has now been opened up enough to discuss similar things in many areas. Accordingly, reflecting the era of cultural content is a natural step. The purpose of this study is to look at the ‘romantic love’ of Korean society based on the achievements of Eva Illuz based on Western society. Eva Illouz analyzes where ‘romantic love’ stands in a capitalist society. It captures the point where love, which has the ideal potential to replace religion, is actually brought down to reality by capital. ‘Eros Capital’ is evidence of love pulled down, and it is a form of capital that runs through the present era of pursuing only physical pleasure in an era where even the shell of romantic love ideals has disappeared. ‘Mask Girl’ shows how people who do not have ‘Eros capital’ are alienated and ignited from society. This is also the point that sheds light on various criminal cases occurring in Korean society. ‘My Liberation Notes’ also projects the appearance of Korean society where ‘Eros Capital’ is used, but it does not stop there and develops a discussion on the possibility of ideal love by presenting a new way of love, the ‘Chuang’ relationship. An interesting point is that ‘My Liberation Notes’ brings about Korean society of the 'past' as a basis for the feasibility of 'Chuang'. It is to present alternative love by utilizing realism with time difference. The Utopia of ‘romantic love’ and the ‘liminality’ of reality make us hope for vague possibilities, but in the end, there is a strong negative nuance that comes from the inability to realize utopia. However, the adoration presented by ‘My Liberation Notes’ vaguely shifted the boundary to heterotopia, not utopia, and further made the boundary even lighter by opening the ending. The analysis of praise is significant in that it creates a real possibility that viewers can try such love.
