중국 초·중등 예비 미술교사의 시각문화 미술교육 전문성 성장에 대한 내러티브 연구

Abstract

In the 20s of the 21st century, when the world’s science and technology and economy continue to develop, the scientific and technological innovation of the future will be grounded at the foundation of culture, and aesthetic creativity and profound wisdom are the true driving forces of human progress. In other words, especially in today's world where visual images abound all over the world, if people do not have a basic appreciation for beauty, they may not be able to read visual symbols in depth and therefore better adapt to the changing world. This trend of change in visual culture has created new challenges in school art education in many aspects, such as goals, contents, methods and assessments, and has provided unprecedented space and potential for young people to acquire deeper and more comprehensive art skills and visual literacy. In this context, in order to raise the level of art education to a new level, educators must constantly investigate and explore what changes are needed in the current field of art education. What role should art education play in schools to develop students’ ability to adapt to changes in the world? When it comes to the aesthetics of visual images, it is both an opportunity and a challenge, whether you are an art student in school or an art teacher who teaches beauty. In particular, in the case of art teachers, new demands and expectations have been raised on their art professional literacy in the era of visual culture, especially on visual literacy in the field of education. This study aims to explore the understanding and perception of visual and cultural professional of art education and the meaning and impact of preparatory art teachers on personal growth in the story of art practicum, and to provide implications for the further expansion of art education in schools. To this end, this study selected the following specific research questions. First, under the influence of visual culture, what is the experience of preparatory art teacher in the art education practicum process? Second, how does a preparatory art teacher’s visual culture expertise manifest itself in their experience in art education practicum? Third, what are the implications preparatory art teacher’s professional growth in visual culture in art education? Focusing on these research questions, this study aims to explore the experiences of preparatory art teachers in the process of practicing in the field of art education, and to deeply understand the professional growth of preparatory art teachers in the process of the development of Chinese visual culture art education, and to provide implications for realizing the further expansion of art education in schools. The Narrative Study was chosen to gain a deeper understanding of the preparatory art teacher’s art practicum experience. This study is an experience-centered narrative exploration of preparatory art teachers in the field of art education, targeting students majoring in art education at a university in Shandong Province, China. Three students were selected, focusing on their educational internship experience from March 2023 to August 2023 for five months. As a result, the professional characteristics of visual cultural literacy for preparatory art teachers mainly focus on four aspects: “guidance of visual problem awareness”, “cultivation of visual thinking”, “connection between experience and cultural criticism”, and “guidance of diversified development”. The stories of the three preparatory art teachers covered in this study may be unique experiences that are difficult to overview, but the opportunity to practice art teaching is meaningful in understanding what they have experienced in the process, and how they have recognized and developed the qualities needed for teachers, especially in the context of Chinese art education.|21세기에 들어서면서 전 세계의 과학기술과 경제가 끊임없이 발전할 때 미래의 과학 기술 혁신은 문화의 기초에서 정초될 것이며, 미감이 풍부한 창의력과 심오한 지혜야말로 인류 진보의 진정한 동력이다. 즉, 특히 시각적 이미지가 전 세계에 넘치는 오늘날, 사람들이 아름다움에 대한 기본적인 인식이 없다면 시각적 기호를 깊이 있게 읽지 못해 변화하는 세계에 더 잘 적응하지 못할 수도 있다. 시각문화의 이러한 변화 추세는 목표, 내용, 방법과 평가 등 여러 측면에서 학교 미술 교육에 새로운 도전 과제를 던졌고, 청소년들이 더욱 깊고 전면적인 미술 능력과 시각 문해력을 얻을 수 있도록 전례 없는 공간과 잠재력을 제공하였다. 이러한 맥락에서 미술 교육의 수준을 새로운 차원으로 끌어올리기 위해 교육자로서 현재의 미술 교육 분야에 어떤 변화가 필요한가를 끊임없이 추궁하고 탐구해야 한다. 학생들이 세계의 변화에 적응할 수 있는 능력을 키우기 위해 학교 미술 교육은 어떤 역할을 해야 하는가? 시각 이미지의 심미에 관해서는 학교에서 미술 교육을 받는 학생과 미술 교사 모두에게 기회이자 도전이다. 특히 미술 교사의 경우 시각문화 시대에 그들의 미술 전문성, 특히 교육 현장에서 시각과 관련된 문해력에 대한 새로운 요구와 기대를 제기하였다. 본 연구는 예비 미술 교사의 미술 실습 이야기에서 미술 교육의 시각문화전문성에 대한 이해와 인식, 그리고 개인의 성장에 미치는 의미와 영향을 탐구하여 미술 교사의 양성과 학교 미술 교육의 확장에 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 다음과 같은 구체적인 연구 문제를 선정하였다. 첫째, 시각문화의 영향을 받은 예비 미술 교사들이 미술 교육 실습 과정에서 겪었던 경험은 어떤 것인가? 둘째, 예비 미술 교사의 시각문화 전문성은 미술 실습 경험에서 어떻게 나타나는가? 셋째, 예비 미술 교사의 시각문화 전문성 성장은 미술 교육에서 어떤 함의를 지니는가? 이러한 연구 문제에 집중하여 본 연구는 예비 미술 교사들이 미술 교육 현장에서 실습하는 과정에서 겪은 경험을 탐구하고 중국 시각문화의 미술 교육 발전 과정에서 예비 미술 교사들의 전문성 성장을 깊이 이해하여 학교 미술 교육의 진일보한 확장을 실현하는 데 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 예비 미술 교사의 실습 경험을 깊이 이해하기 위해 내러티브 연구(Narrative Study)를 선택하였다. 이번 연구는 미술 교육 현장에 있는 예비 교사의 경험 중심의 내러티브 탐구로, 중국 산둥성(山东省)의 한 대학교 미술 교육학과 학생들을 대상으로 진행하였다. 본 연구는 예비 미술 교사의 교육 현장 실습 경험을 바탕으로 진행됐으며, 예비 미술 교사 세 명을 선정하여 2023년 3월부터 2023년 8월까지 5개월 동안의 교육 실습 경험에 집중하였다. 이에 따라 연구 결과, 예비 미술 교사의 시각문화 전문성의 특성은 “시각적 문제의식의 인도”, “시각적 사유의 양성”, “경험과 문화 비판력의 연계”, “다원화 발전 이끌기”의 네 가지 측면에 집중된다. 이 연구에서 다루는 예비 미술 교사 세 명의 이야기는 개괄하기 어려운 독특한 경험일 수 있지만, 미술 교육 실습의 기회를 통해 이들이 이 과정에서 어떤 경험을 했는지, 특히 중국 미술 교육의 환경에서 교사들에게 필요한 자질을 어떻게 인식하고 발전시켰는지 이해하는 데 의미가 있다.
