- Strain-insensitive stretchable radio-frequency antenna for wireless communications Jaeman Lim Dept. of Electronic engineering The Graduate School Hanyang University Recently, wearable devices with medical purposes have been intensely developed because of their wireless features that provide mobility to users. However, wireless communication performances of wearable devices degrade as antennas under strain must undergo mechanical deformation due to natural stretchability of human skin. In this work, we report a strain- insensitive stretchable antenna system with stable communicating performance using serpentine copper traces with serpentine design as antennas and dielectro-elastic elastomer (DEE) material with tunable dielectric properties as the substrate.
