함석진의 석사학위 공연 “Jazz Archive”

Abstract

본 논문은 석사과정 이수를 위한 졸업 공연 “Jazz Archive”에서 연주된 작품들의 음악적 분석 및 연구이다. 졸업 작품은 재즈(Jazz) 장르(Genre)의 범주 안에서 Smooth Jazz와 Fusion Jazz로 정의 가능한 5개의 곡들로 구성되어 있다. Hollow Body Electric 기타(Guitar)를 공통적으로 사용하였으며, 그 중에서도 Semi-Hollow Body 기타(Guitar)와 Full-Hollow Body 기타(Guitar)를 각 곡의 분위기와 특성에 맞는 기타(Guitar) 톤(Tone)을 적용하기위한 목적으로 분할하여 사용하였다. 공연의 주제인 “Jazz Archive” 는 재즈(Jazz) 연주를 통해 연주자에게 내재 되어있는 (Jazz)의 정서와 언어(Language)들을 공연을 통해 나타내고자 하는 목적이 담겨있다. 재즈(Jazz)의 주요한 요소인 즉흥연주(Improvisation)를 작품내에 다수 배치 및 활용 하였으며, 연주자들 간 상호작용(Interplay)이 자유롭게 발생 가능하도록 공연을 구상 하였다. 본 논문에서는 졸업공연 작품분석을 기타(Guitar)의 즉흥연주기법을 중심으로 분석하여 작품 속에 사용된 연주기법과 음악적 특징을 전달하는 것에 중점을 두었으며 이후의 재즈(Jazz) 연주기법 연구의 심화와 발전에 기여하고자 하였다.|This thesis is a musical analysis and study of works performed in the recital "Jazz Archive" for the completion of the master's course. The graduation work consists of five songs that can be defined as Smooth Jazz and Fusion Jazz within the category of the Jazz genre. Hollow Body Electric Guitar was commonly used, and Semi-Hollow Body Guitar and Full-Hollow Body Guitar were divided and used for the purpose of applying a Guitar tone suitable for the atmosphere and characteristics of each song. The theme of the performance, "Jazz Archive," contains the purpose of expressing the sentiments and languages of Jazz inherent in the performer through the performance of Jazz. A number of Improvision, a major element of Jazz, was placed and utilized in the work, and the performance was designed to allow interplay between performers to occur freely. In this thesis, we focused on conveying the performance techniques and musical characteristics used in the work by analyzing the analysis of graduation performance works focusing on Guitar's improvisation techniques and tried to contribute to the deepening and development of the research on Jazz performance techniques.
