A Study on the entrepreneurial in of Chinese Students in Korea: Focus on personal characteristics and the moderating effects of parental effects

Abstract

This paper investigates the personal characteristics of Chinese students in South Korea and how parental authority influences their entrepreneurial intentions. We use the theory of planned behavior, and do some extension on the basis of the theory. Through the form of questionnaire survey, 203 Chinese students were sampled and empirical analysis, and found that (1) Individual cooperation tendency, analytical cognitive style and homosexual orientation have significant and positive effects on entrepreneurial intention. And (2) Authoritative parenting style positively affects entrepreneurial intention and positively moderates the relationship between other independent variables and entrepreneurial intention. This study contributes to the literature of entrepreneurial intentions by filling the research gaps by adding parental authority as an intuitive and indirect influence factor.
