Abstract
In this study, highly exfoliated Lanthanum-embedded oxygen-rich defective MoS2 was synthesized by a hydrothermal reaction to capture hard base anions and arsenic easily. Substituting La ions with different equivalence ratios in the interlayer enhances the adsorption properties of arsenite and arsenate in simple solutions, as shown by the Langmuir adsorption density values of 1.566 and 2.278 mmol/g, respectively. When the O-rich MoS2 layer is incorporated with La 1.0eq, its adsorption performance shows the best values among the prepared materials. The appearance of O and S was more responsible for removing arsenite ions. Except for phosphates, which exhibit similar chemical behavior to arsenic, adsorption densities are not significantly affected, indicating the selectivity of the prepared materials. Therefore, this study suggested that La-substituted O-rich MoS2 is a potential candidate for soft and hard non-metal removal in water.
