크루즈 선사를 위한 캐빈용 베딩 서피스패턴디자인 분석 및 개발

Abstract

크루즈 산업은 미래를 선도하는 기술집약적 산업으로 유럽, 미주의 선진국을 중심으로 지속적으로 성장하고 있으나 한국은 세계1위 조선강국임에도 불구하고 선박용 고급 인테리어 분야는 외국에 비해 상당히 뒤처져 있다. 특히 한국을 기항지로 하는 크루즈 관광 수요가 급증함에 따라 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖춘 한국형 디자인의 개발이 절실한 이 시점에서 본 연구는 크루즈 선사별로 특성화된 캐빈용 베딩 서피스패턴디자인을 제시하여 크루즈 인테리어 산업발전에 기여하고자 하였다. 연구 범위는 세계 크루즈 2대 선사인 카니발과 스타로 한정하였고, 연구 방법으로는 문헌자료와 인터넷자료를 참조하여 크루즈와 크루즈 선사의 개념, 크루즈 산업의 국내외 현황, 크루즈 2대 선사별 베딩 서피스패턴디자인의 특징과 스타일을 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 디자인 콘셉트를 설정한 후 고부가가치의 한국형디자인 개발을 위해 한국전통문양에서 모티프를 가져와 선사별 아이덴티티에 적합하고 독창적인 디자인을 개발하였으며, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

첫째, 카니발 크루즈 선사의 펀쉽‘ 테마에 적합한 베딩 서피스패턴디자인은 ‘인벤티브 팝’ 콘셉트로 창의적이며 웰빙과 오락적인 요소가 조화된 이미지를 표현할 수 있었으며, 유기적, 기하학적 모티프와 경쾌한 컬러를 반영하여 유쾌하고 유니크한 캐빈용 베딩 패턴디자인을 개발하였다. 둘째, 스타 크루즈 선사는 동양적인 오리엔탈과 유럽의 클래식한 디자인을 세련된 느낌으로 조화시킨 ‘에센트릭 트루스’ 콘셉트로 장식적 보헤미안 스타일의 모티프와 동양적이고 클래식한 컬러를 조합하여 동양의 전통성을 살린 클래식 보헤미안 스타일의 캐빈용 베딩 서피스패턴디자인을 제시할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 향 후 고부가가치의 한국형 크루즈 인테리어 관련 자료로 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이라 사료되며, 앞으로도 지속적인 크루즈인테리어 관련 연구개발이 활성화되기를 기대해본다.;The cruise industry is a highly promising and technology-intensive industry. It has been steadily growing mostly in advanced nations including Europe and the U.S. Even though Korea is the world"s No. 1 shipbuilding country, their high-end interior for ship is considerably far behind other countries. As the cruise tourism products that program Korean ports as their ports of call, it becomes imperative to develop designs of the Korean style that have global competitiveness. In this context, This study proposed bedding surface pattern designs for the cruise cabins specialized for two different cruise companies to make a contribution to the cruise ship interior industry. The study was made on Carnival and Star, the world"s top two cruise companies. The research method was to investigate the relevant literature and internet data and analyze the concept and features of cruise company; the status of the cruise industry in Korea and abroad; the characteristics and style of bedding surface pattern design of each cruise company. Based on this result, a design concept was established and borrowed a motive from Korean traditional patterns to develop unique designs suitable to each company"s identity. In this study, following conclusion could be obtained; First, the bedding surface design suitable to the theme of Carnival"s "Fun Ship‘ is based on ‘Inventive Pop’ concept that expresses well harmonized image of creativity, wellness and fun. Reflecting organic and geometric motifs and cheerful colors, cheerful and unique bedding pattern designs were developed. Second, based on the ‘Eccentric Ttruth’ concept that featured an elegant harmony of Oriental design and European classic design, this study proposed a classic Bohemian-style surface pattern design for the cabins of Star Cruise with decorative bohemian-style motifs and the combination of oriental and classic colors that could express the feel of the oriental tradition. This study might be utilized usefully as the data related to Korean style cruise interior design with high value and, hopefully, would inspire continuous studies and developments on cruise interiors in future.
