현대 퍼스트 레이디 룩의 형성과 디자인 특성에 관한 연구 －재키 스타일의 투피스를 중심으로－

Abstract

재클린 케네디는 31세의 젊은 나이에 퍼스트레이디가 되면서 그녀가 즐겨 입었던 스타일이 ‘재키스타일’로 명명될 만큼 패션모드 역사의 중요한 스타일이다. 본 연구에서는 재클린 공식적으로 입었던 투피스드레스 31점을 분석하여 퍼스트레이디룩의 디자인특성을 찾고자 하였다. 이를 통해 21세기형 성인여성복 디자인의 기초자료를 제공하는데 연구목적이 있다. 본 연구방법은 단행본, 사진집, 패션관련 잡지, 전기, 인터넷 자료, 선행논문을 사용한 정성적 분석을 하였다. 연구범위로는 재클린의 35대 퍼스트레이디 시기의 공식석상에서 착용했던 투피스 드레스로 제한하였다. 재클린의 분석 사진자료 수집은 Jay Mulvaney(2001)의 단행본에 실린 자료를 대상으로 하였고, 그 외 퍼스트레이디들의 분석 사진자료 수집은 인터넷을 통하여 이루어졌다. 데이터 분석방법은 빈도와 백분율(%)로 하였으며 재클린 이후의 퍼스트레이디 사진 자료는 디자인의 유사성을 입증하는 측면으로 분석하여 본문에 기술하고자 하였다. 36대 클라우디아 존슨은 7점, 37대 패트리시아 닉슨은 7점, 38대 베티포드는 6점, 39대 로잘린 카터는 7점, 40대 낸시 레이건은 8점, 41대 바바라 부시는 7점, 42대 힐러리 클린턴은 8점, 43대 로라 부시는 8점, 44대 미셀 오바마는 8점의 사진을 분석에 사용하였다. 연구가설에 따른 결과 도출을 위해 재클린의 스타일이 이후의 퍼스트레이디 스타일과 같다는 것을 입증 하고자 하였다. 사진자료 분석에 전문가집단 5인의 평가 중 3인 이상의 일치를 보이는 결과만 결과로 받아 들였다. 투피스 드레스 실루엣은 스트레이트의 쉬프트가 많았고 샤넬스타일의 라운드 네크라인과 테일러드 칼라가 많이 나타났다. 색채는 비비드(vivid)톤과 라이트(light)톤이 많이 나타났다. 소재는 실크와 울이 반반씩 나타났고, 문양없고 부드러운 질감이 가장 많았다.재키스타일은 감각과 이미지로 분석하니 감각에서는 패션 혁신자(fashion innovators)면서 클래식(classic)한 이미지의 여성복으로 정착되었기에 이스터블리시(established)에 해당된다. 재키스타일의 디자인 특징을 요약하면 장식을 배제한 간결한 라인과 고급스러운 소재이다. 이는 1960년대중반부터 유행하였던 미니멀리즘의 여성복 스타일과 동일한 것으로 유행선도자로써 재클린의 공헌이 큼을 알 수 있다. 또한 그 뒤에 지속된 퍼스트레이디 룩의 기본틀을 형성한 시점이라는 것을 이어지는 미국 퍼스트레이디 의상을 통해 확인 할 수 있다.;Jacqueline Kennedy on the 31-year-old young woman as first lady was wearing her favorite style ``Jackie Style`` termed as the fashion mode style of history is important.
