어린이 전자책 인터페이스의 유형 차이에 따른 선호도 연구

Abstract

현대 사회는 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 활성화로 전자책 역시 활성화된 지 오래이다. 하지만 전자책 산업에 대한 연구는 부족하다. 특히 그 사용연령층이 낮아지면서 전자책의 활성화에 큰 역할을 하는 어린이 전자책에 대한 연구는 더욱 부족한 현실이다.

따라서 본 연구는 어린이 전자책의 인터페이스의 유형과 그 인터페이스의 차이에 따른 사용 후 선호도의 분석을 통해 인터넷이나 교구에 서비스되고 있는 어린이 전자책 인터페이스의 구성 및 향후 학습효과의 증진 및 엔터테인먼트 장치로서의 방향 제시에 도움을 주고자 했다.

그 방향 제시를 위해 1)어린이의 정보 검색 능력 및 행태와 어린이 전자책 인터페이스의 유형에 대한 조사와, 2)보기 방식에 따라 나눈 어린이 전자책 인터페이스를 참여 관찰하고, 3)그 관찰을 통해 좀 더 나은 어린이 전자책 인터페이스 유형 방식을 파악했다. 이와 같은 조사와 실험 결과 및 분석을 통해서 보다 나은 어린이 전자책 인터페이스를 위한 근거로 사용하는 것은 물론 향후 어린이 전자책 인터페이스 레이아웃의 가이드라인 설정을 위한 자료로서 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.;Nowadays, electronic books (e-books) become popular more and more with the growth of multimedia industry. However, research on e-book is relatively small compared with its popularity, specially, on the e-books for children that occupy a major portion of its industry. In this paper, authors investigate and analyze the preference of user interfaces (UIs) used in e-books for children. 1) An assessment on information retrieval capability of children is conducted. Then, 2) a survey on UIs for the e-books and a preference evaluation on two different types of UI, which are most popular in market, are followed. Finally, 3) we decided the better one from the two UIs based on results from the assessment and extensive comparison of the evaluation results. The results of this research may help to establish a guideline on UIs for improving educational and entertainmental functionality of the e-books, and authors hope our work lead to interests of researchers on UIs in e-books for children.
