전통담장 조형 요소의 모티브 활용 연구

Abstract

세계가 인정하는 우수한 디자인을 위하여 어설픈 서양 문화의 모방보다 우리 전통을 강조하는 디자인 문화를 확립하는 것이 중요하다. 생활수준의 향상과 미의식의 발달로 단순히 기능을 요구하던 시대에서 정서적 기능이 함축된 아름다움에 대한 욕구가 새로운 트랜드로 자리 잡고 기능과 미가 함께 어우러지는 디자인 차별화를 요구하고 있다. 소비계층의 특성에 적합한 디자인과 우리 고유의 디자인 소재의 개발로 국가적 디자인 경쟁력을 높이기 위하여 모방과 답습에서 벗어나 전통의 아름다움이 내재된 소재와 모티브의 연구가 필요한 시점으로 우리 선조들이 생활 속에 함께해온 전통담장을 연구소재로 전통건축을 조망하는 시각적 변화를 통한 연구 방향을 설정하였다.

버내큘러 디자인에 적합하면서 전국에 공통적으로 산재한 전통담장에 표현된 우리의 소재나 기법을 새로운 시각적 분석을 통하여, 그 안에 내재된 선조들의 사상과 미적 감각을 다각도로 분석하고 새로운 기초조형 소재로 디자인 작업에 적용할 수 있는 방법을 연구 하였다. 지역 특성과 생활수준에 적합하게 축조된 전통담장을 조사. 분석하고, 소재와 축조기술, 재료의 구성 등에서 나타나는 형태를 평면적 모티브와 입체 형태로 발전시켜 모티브를 도출하였다. 모티브를 다시 세분화하고 재구성하는 방안을 제시하여 전통담장 이외에 건축의 내외적 요소에서 또 다른 연구와 소재의 개발이 이루어질 수 있는 가능성을 열어 두고자 한다.

현대적 감각의 건축 외부 디자인에 우리 고유의 전통적 모티브를 적용한 디자인 소재의 개발과 방향성을 제시한 본 연구가 전통적 감각을 접목시켜 개성을 강조하고 차별화된 디자인을 위하여 전통건축의 다양한 소재에서 아이디어를 얻고 적용함으로써 독특하고 특징 있는 공간 창조에 도움을 주고자 한다.;It is important to establish our own design culture focusing on our tradition rather than imitating Western culture awkwardly in order to get excellent design to be recognized world widely. Improved living standard and developed sense on the beauty create new trend of yearning for the beauty implied by emotional function beyond simple function and differentiating the design in which beauty as well as functionality are associated together is required.

Developing the design to be suitable for the characteristics of different groups of consumers and the material of design of our own could enhance the national design competitiveness and studying the motifs containing our traditional beauty is required escaping from simple imitation and following the alien design. In this regard, this paper selected our traditional fence that has been with the daily life of our ancestors to review our traditional architecture how it could be incorporated with modern design. Material and technique expressed in the traditional fence to be suitable with Vernacular design and distributed across the country are analyzed in terms of understanding the ideology and sense of beauty in it. And this paper studied how to apply it as a new basic formative material. Traditional fences that were built suitable with the local features and living standard were analyzed and the shape found in the material, building technique and the composition of material were developed into plane motif and three dimensional shape to get new motifs. This paper suggests how to classify and reorganize them and indicates further possibility that another research and development of material can be achieved in the internal and external elements in addition to the traditional fence.

This study on developing the design material applying our traditional motif to the external architectural design of modern touch and suggesting its direction is to obtain ideas from various materials of traditional architecture and apply them by grafting traditional sense and emphasizing its personality to differentiate the design for the purpose of helping create unique and characteristic space.
