안산읍성의 공간구조 고찰

Abstract

안산읍성은 조선시대 읍성으로 경기지역에 위치하는 입지적 희소성으로 인해 매우 중요한 유적으로 평가받고 있다. 7차 차례에 걸친 발굴조사를 통해 다양한 유구가 확인되었고, 이를 토대로 현재 객사 및 성벽 복원이 이루어졌다. 그러나 성 내 공간구조는 근래까지 유적의 훼손이 이루어졌고 사료도 적어 원형을 파악하기 어렵다. 따라서 안산읍성과 지리적으로 유사한 서해안지역 읍성의 구조와 비교한 후 안산읍성의 발굴조사 자료 및 사료를 바탕으로성 내의 공간 구조를 검토하였다.

읍성의 내부 공간 구조는 발굴조사 자료와 사료를 바탕으로 한 추정 구조가 각각 다르게 나타났다. 발굴조사 자료를 검토해 볼 때 사료의 기록과는 달리 동헌과 객사는 병렬배치된 것이 아니라 동헌은 북서쪽, 객사는 읍성의 남쪽 평탄지에 입지하여 동헌과 객사는 서로 다른 종축 상에 위치하며 기타시설은 읍성의 서·남편으로 집중되어 조성되었을 가능성이 크다. 기타시설 중 저장시설은 읍성 내 동편에서 확인되고, 서편에 위치하고 있는 목빙고는 주변으로 타 시설의 흔적이 확인되지 않고 사옹원 어소와 관련된 목빙고의 중요도를 감안해 볼 때 다른 저장시설과는 달리 별도 관리되었던 것으로 보인다. 이 밖에 창고 등은 물자이동에 유리한 교통로와 근접하는 읍성의 서쪽과남쪽에 위치하고 있었을 것으로 추정된다. 이처럼 안산읍성은 서해안 지역의 읍성과 유사성을 보이고 있지만 서로다른 독특한 구조를 보이고 있다.

따라서 안산읍성 내 공간 구조에 대한 구체적인 양상을 파악하기 위해서는 단기간 내의 복원은 지양되어야 하며, 읍성 북편의 미조사구역에 대한 추가적인 고고학적인 조사가 우선적으로 필요하다고 생각된다.;Ansan Eupseong Fortress(安山邑城) is a Joseon Dynasty(朝鮮時代) Eupseong Fortress located in the Gyeonggi region(京畿地域) and is a very important relic due to its scarcity. Various remains were identified through seven excavation surveys, and based on this, the Gaeksa(Guesthouse 客舍) and fortress walls were restored. However, in relation to the structure of the castle, the ruins have been damaged in recent years and there are few historical sources, making it difficult to grasp the original form. Therefore, after reviewing the structure of the west coast fortress, which is geographically similar to Ansan-eupseong Fortress, the spatial structure of the fortress was confirmed based on the excavation survey data and historical materials of Ansaneupseong Fortress.

The internal space structure of the eupseong was different from the estimated structure based on excavation survey data and historical materials. Unlike the records of the excavation survey, Dongheon(Government Office 東軒) and Gaeksa were not arranged in parallel, but Dongheon and Gaeksa were located in the northwest and Gaeksa were located on the southern flatland of Eupseong, and other facilities were likely concentrated as western and southern parts of Eupseong. Other storage facilities were identified on the east side of the Eupseong Fortress, and Mokbinggo(Wooden Ice Storehouse 木氷庫) located on the west side did not show any traces of other facilities, so considering the importance of Mokbinggo related to Saongwon(司饔院) Ego(魚 所), it seems to have been managed separately from other storage facilities. It is estimated that other facilities such as warehouses were located in the west and south of Eupseong Fortress, which is close to the transportation route favorable to material movement. As such, Ansaneupseong Fortress shows similarities to eupseong fortress in the west coast, but shows different unique structures.

Therefore, in order to understand the specific aspects of the spatial structure in Ansaneupseong Fortress, restoration within a short period of time should be avoided, and additional archaeological investigations into the unexplored area north of Eupseong Fortress are considered to be necessary first.
