대학생의 병리적 자기애와 사회불안의 관계

Abstract

본 연구는 대학생의 병리적 자기애 성향과 사회불안의 관계에서 완벽주의적 자기제시가 매개하는지를 알아보고, 자기고양적 편향이 이러한 매개효과를 조절하는지 확인하기 위해 조절된 매개분석을 실시하였다. 이를 위해 전국의 대학생 514명을 대상으로 병리적 자기애 척도(PNI), 사회적 상호작용 불안 척도(SIAS), 한국판 완벽주의적 자기제시 척도(PSPS-K), 자기고양적 편향 척도(PIQ)를 사용하여 설문조사를 실시하였고, 이 중 불성실하게 응답한 13부를 제외한 총 501부의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 결과를 확인하기 위하여 SPSS Statistics 24.0과 Process Macro 3.5 프로그램을 사용하였다. 병리적 자기애가 사회불안에 미치는 영향에서 완벽주의적 자기제시가 자기고양적 편향에 의해 조절된 매개효과를 나타내는지 확인하기 위해 Process Macro의 Model 7을 사용하여 분석을 실시하였으며, 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 병리적 자기애와 사회불안과의 관계를 완벽주의적 자기제시가 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자기고양적 편향이 완벽주의적 자기제시에 대한 병리적 자기애의 영향력을 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 병리적 자기애가 사회불안에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 완벽주의적 자기제시가 이를 매개하는 것으로 나타났고, 병리적 자기애와 완벽주의적 자기제시 간의 관계가 자기고양적 편향의 수준에 따라 달라지는 것으로 나타나 조절된 매개효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 병리적 자기애 성향이 있는 대학생의 사회불안을 감소시키기 위하여 자기고양적 편향과 완벽주의적 자기제시라는 두 변인의 특성을 고려하는 치료적 개입 방안을 살펴보았고, 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

| This study researches that perfectionist self-presentation could mediate relationship between pathological narcissism and social anxiety, and it conducted a moderated mediating effect analysis in order to verify whether self-enhancement bias could control the mediating effects. For this research, this study selected 514 college students and survey them by using Pathological Narcissism Inventory(PNI), Social Interaction Anxiety Scale(SIAS), and Perfectionistic Self-Presentation Scale-Korean version(PSPS-K), and Positive Illusion Questionnaire(PIQ). This study utilized a total of 501 copies from them except 13 surveys, which responded insincerely. It used SPSS Statistics 24.0 and Process Macro 3.5 programs to verify results. In order to identify that in terms of effects of Pathological Narcissism on the Social Anxiety, Perfectionistic Self-Presentation has the moderated mediating effects depending on Self-Enhancement Bias, this study conducted analysis by using Model 7 of Process Macro, and its results are as follows. First, this study found that the Perfectionistic Self-Presentation has partially mediating effects on the relationship between Pathological Narcissism and Social Anxiety. Second, it found that the Self-Enhancement Bias could control effects of Pathological Narcissism on Perfectionistic Self-Presentation. Third, in the process in which Pathological Narcissism influences Social Anxiety, the Perfectionistic Self-Presentation could have mediating effects on the process. Since the relationship between the Pathological Narcissism and the Perfectionistic Self-Presentation varied depending on a level of the Self-Enhancement Bias, this study found the Self-Enhancement Bias could have the moderated mediating effects. According to the results, this study researched therapeutic intervention methods by considering characteristics of the two variables such as the Self-Enhancement Bias and Perfectionistic Self-Presentation in order to decrease the Social Anxiety of college students who have the Pathological Narcissism. Then, it presented limits of this research and suggestions for follow-up studies.
