코로나19로 인한 항공승무원의 직무불안에 관한 현상학적 연구: 국내 저비용항공사(LCC) 승무원을 중심으로

Abstract

코로나19라는 불가항력적인 충격은 국내외 항공산업에 큰 충격과 일자리 손실을 가져왔다. 국제항공운송협회(IATA)는 항공 및 관련 산업에서 약 2.500만 명의 일자리를 상실을 예측할 정도이다. 따라서 이 연구는 코로나19라는 전대미문의 충격이 국내 LCC 항공승무원에게 어떠한 의미를 갖는가라는 연구질문을 통해 그들의 직무불안 경험을 이해하고 관련 직군의 특성을 파악하였다. 연구 진행을 위해 그들이 일상에서 경험하는 심리학적 의미를 분석하여 인간행위의 본질적 의미를 파악하기 위해 Giorgi의 현상학적 분석법을 활용하였다. 연구 결과 연구 참여자들은 당혹감 등 부정적 감정에 노출되었으며 휴직 장기화에 따라 경제적 압박에 시달리고 있었다. 이러한 감정에서 벗어나려는 생존의 욕구는 운동, 등산, 요리 등의 취미활동을 하며 여가의 편익을 깨닫는 계기가 되었으며 자기성찰과 스트레스 완화, 조직에 대한 긍정적 감정, 정부지원의 고마움에 일조하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 국내 20∼30대를 대상으로 한정함으로써 세대별, 생애주기별 지향점을 깊이 있게 고찰하는 계기를 마련한 점에 의의가 있다. 이론적, 정책적 시사점으로는 정부의 고용유지 지원정책이 직무불안정성에 직면한 관광 종사자가 직무 복귀의 용이성, 자기성찰과 교육의 기회를 통한 직무 전환기회 제공, 고용유지 방안에 대한 시사점을 제시한다.;The COVID-19 shock brought a great shock to the domestic and foreign aviation industries and job losses. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) predicts the loss of about 25 million jobs in aviation and related industries. Therefore, in this study, we understood their job insecurity experiences and identified the characteristics of related occupations through research questions about the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 on domestic LCC flight attendants. For the progress of the study, Giorgi's phenomenological analysis method was used to analyze the psychological meanings they experience in their daily lives and to grasp the essential meaning of human behavior. As a result of the study, the study participants were exposed to negative emotions such as embarrassment, and were suffering from economic pressure due to prolonged leave of absence. The desire to survive these emotions served as an opportunity to realize the benefits of leisure by doing hobbies such as exercise, hiking, and cooking, and contributed to self-reflection, stress relief, positive feelings for the organization, and gratitude for government support. These research results are meaningful in that they provided an opportunity to deeply examine the orientation points by generation and life cycle by limiting them to those in their 20s and 30s in Korea. Theoretical and policy implications are that the government's employment maintenance support policy provides implications for the ease of returning to work, providing job transition opportunities through self-reflection and educational opportunities, and maintaining employment.
