숙련상담자들의 사례개념화 및 상담개입전략 수립에 관한 질적 연구

Abstract

본 연구에서는 숙련상담자들의 사례개념화 및 상담개입전략 수립 방법을 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 상담 전공 박사학위와상담 전문가 자격증을 소지하고 최소 15년 이상의 상담 경력과 10년 이상의 수퍼비전 경력이 있는 숙련상담자8명을 대상으로 일대일 면접을 진행하였고, 합의적 질적 연구 방법을 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 참여자들은내담자에 대한 전반적인 인상 형성과 특징 파악을 위해 내담자의 외현적, 비언어적 특성, 문제에 대한 내담자의진술, 내담자에 대한 상담자의 정서적 반응에 주목하는 것으로 나타났다. 그들은 사례개념화를 위해 호소 문제에초점을 두고, 핵심 욕구와 패턴을 파악하며, 문제의 발생 원인을 다면적으로 평가하는데, 이론적 틀을 토대로 이러한과정을 수행한다고 보고하였다. 상담목표 설정에 있어서는 내담자와의 합의를 가장 중요시하였고, 핵심 역동과 패턴을반영하며, 현실적이고 실현 가능한 목표를 선정하는 것이 중요하다고 진술하였다. 상담전략과 기법을 선택할 때에는내담자의 특성과 준비도를 고려하는 것이 필수적이라고 보았고, 안정적이고 신뢰를 바탕으로 한 상담관계를 형성하는것이 전략과 기법의 활용 가능성과 효과성을 제고한다고 믿었다. 참여자들은 사례개념화 및 상담개입전략 수립에관한 훈련 방법으로 풍부한 사례 경험을 최우선으로 권하였고, 이론적 틀을 갖추기 위한 노력도 지속되어야 한다는의견을 제시하였다.

This study qualitatively examined how experienced counselors would undertake case conceptualization and plan treatments in counseling. Individual interviews were conducted with eight experienced counselors, who held a doctoral degree and an advanced-level certification in counseling and also had a minimum of 15 years of counseling and five years of supervision experience. Data were analyzed using the consensual qualitative research method. Participants paid attention to the client's external and non-verbal characteristics, statements about the problem, and their own emotional responses to the client in order to assess overall impression and characteristics of the client. For case conceptualization, they focused on the client's main complaints, identified key needs and patterns, and explored the causes of the problem from diverse viewpoints while relying on their chosen theoretical frame. As to setting goals in counseling, they highlighted the importance of agreement with the client and regarded it as critical to take into account the client's core dynamics and patterns and make goals realistic and attainable. In addition, they stated that a secure and reliable relationship with the client would enhance the availability and effectiveness of strategies and techniques used in counseling. Participants recommended rich experiences as a top priority and suggested that efforts should be made to establish a theoretical framework as a way of improving the capabilities of undertaking case conceptualization and planning treatments.
