dc.description.abstractGear strength is the measure used to forecast the service life of gear driving system. Common methods for forecasting the gear strength are Lewis bending stress and AGMA (American Gear Manufacturing Association) method. Although finite element method could calculate the strength with relative actual strength under the changing conditions, it consumes a lot of time due to the complicated calculation. Lewis bending stress method employs the equivalent form to calculate the gear strength in a short period of time but could only be performed under the given operational conditions. Therefore, Lewis bending stress and AGMA method aren’t capable of forecasting the gear strength of gear driving system under continuously changing conditions. This paper combined with the advantages of ANSYS Motion and advantages of AGMA method to get the new method under the variable condition, we can do rapid calculation of the gear strength on the time domain.-
