전통소재를 기반으로한 현대춤 작품 추상 표현 연구

Abstract

The abstract (abstraction) plays a major role in the arts of each field, such as literature, art, music, and film as well as dance. Creators create by melting their own interpretation, understanding, and realization of historical events, classic stories, everyday life, and even certain objects, and create images of objects through imaginary imagery expressions rather than representations that describe the representation of objects. It conveys the inner ideological feelings and inner spirit. The rapid development of material civilization and technology in modern society has made us change from the information age to the emotional age. As a choreographer, he has to go forward with the times and use his body language to create a rich image and create dance works to satisfy people's growing mental demands. In dance works, abstract choreography based on traditional materials gives a more distinct visual and intuitive feeling. This study intends to analyze the abstract dance language with traditional materials through the analysis of dance works. In addition, it is intended to help the practice of dance creation in the future by organizing theories of how abstract dance language is used for choreography. This thesis aims to explore the abstract meaning and application methods of traditional elements, focusing on the contemporary dance works and 'Xenos', focusing on the abstraction and utilization of traditional materials in the works. Both works use a variety of traditional materials and use abstract techniques to express profound themes and meanings. The abstract meaning constantly changes with the development of different plot lines and dance movements in the work. It creates different abstract meanings in the constant 'change' and creates a fantastic space that matches the psychological association of the audience. Furthermore, it instills rich connections and imagination in the audience, allowing them to experience and acquire the profound implications of the spiritual aspect expressed by the works. The main purpose of this thesis is to present a methodology so that the abstract expression of traditional materials in contemporary dance works and their significance can be utilized in the specific creative process. This study used art theory literature research and work analysis as research methods. This thesis, which intends to study the abstraction method of traditional elements of works based on traditional materials among contemporary dance works, consists of six chapters. Literature collection, arrangement and research on the history and development of contemporary dance, and theories of art studies will be intensively conducted. There are studies on the combination of abstraction and figuration, the composition of abstract expression in choreography, and the possibility of abstract interpretation and various implications. In order to analyze the work more systematically, after collecting literature on the subject of the choreographer and the work, abstract scenes are captured in the work and tabulated, and the abstract expressions of traditional materials in the work are analyzed. The idea of contemporary dance should be conveyed through metaphorical and abstract body language as well as body images through visualization of expressive power. The use of abstraction of traditional materials creates a sense of aesthetics in the imaginary image of motion. The use of abstract paintings of traditional materials establishes the symbolic expression of dance movements. From the point of view of dance art or abstraction, modern dance art is dependent on various materials through abstract mutual fusion and promotion. Abstract expression promotes the sublimation of dance art, and dance art makes a single abstraction more emotional.| 추상적인 것(추상성)은 무용은 물론 문학, 미술, 음악, 영화 등 각 분야의 예술 분야에서 지대한 역할을 한다. 창작자는 역사적 사건, 고전적 이야기, 일상의 삶, 심지어 어떤 물건에 이르기까지 자신의 해석과 이해, 깨달음을 녹여가며 창작하며, 어떤 사물의 표상을 서술하는 재현이 아니라 상상적 이미지 형상화된 표현을 통해 사물의 내면에 깃든 사상적 감정과 내재적 정신을 전달한다. 현대사회에서 급속도로 발달한 물질문명과 기술의 발전은 역으로 정보화시대에서 감성시대로 변화하게 만들었다. 안무가로서 시대와 함께 나아가 신체 언어를 활용하여 풍부한 이미지를 조성하고 무용작품을 창작하여 사람들의 날로 증가하는 정신적 수요를 충족시켜야 한다. 무용작품에서 전통적인 소재를 기반으로 한 추상적인 안무는 시각적이고 직관적인 느낌을 더욱 뚜렷하게 준다.

본 연구는 무용작품 분석을 통해 전통소재를 지닌 추상적 무용 언어를 분석하고자 한다. 그리고 추상적인 무용 언어의 안무에 대한 활용 방식을 총결산하는 이론 정리를 통해 앞으로의 무용 창작 실천을 돕고자 한다. 본 논문은 현대춤 작품 <행초>와 ˂제노스(Xenos)˃를 중심으로 작품에서 전통적인 소재의 추상과 활용을 주요 논제로 삼아 전통적 요소의 추상적 의미와 응용 방법을 탐색하고자 한다. 두 작품 모두 다양한 전통적인 소재를 사용하며, 추상적인 기법을 사용하여 심오한 주제와 의미를 표현한다. 작품 속에서 서로 다른 줄거리와 무용 동작의 발전으로 추상적인 의미는 끊임없이 변화한다. 끊임없는 '변화' 속에서 서로 다른 추상적인 의미를 만들어내며 관객의 심리적 연상에 부합하는 환상적 공간을 창출하기도 한다. 나아가 관객들에게 풍부한 연결과 상상력을 심어주며, 작품들이 표현하는 정신적 측면의 깊은 함의를 경험하고 체득하도록 한다.

본 논문의 주요 목적은 현대무용 작품에서 전통소재에 대한 추상적인 표현과 그 의의를 구체적인 창작 과정에서 활용할 수 있도록 방법론을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구는 예술이론 문헌 연구와 작품 분석을 연구 방법으로 삼았다. 현대춤 작품 중 전통소재를 기반으로 한 작품이 갖는 전통요소에 대한 추상화 방법을 연구하고자 하는 본 논문은 여섯 개의 장으로 구성된다. 현대무용의 역사와 발전 현황, 예술학 이론에 관한 문헌 수집, 정리와 연구가 집중적으로 이뤄질 것이다. 추상과 구상의 결합, 안무에서 추상적 표현의 구성, 그리고 추상적인 해석 가능성과 다양한 함의성에 대한 연구들이 있다. 작품을 더욱 체계적으로 분석하기 위해 안무가와 작품의 주제에 대한 문헌을 수집한 후, 작품에 추상적인 장면을 캡처해 표로 만들고 작품 속 전통소재를 추상화한 표현들을 분석한다.

현대춤의 사상전달은 단순히 표현력의 시각화에 의한 신체 이미지뿐만 아니라 은유적이고 추상적인 신체 언어로 이루어져야 한다. 전통소재의 추상화 활용은 동작의 상상적 이미지 미감을 만든다. 전통소재의 추상화 활용은 춤 동작의 상징적 표현을 정립한다. 무용 예술의 관점에서나 추상적 관점에서나 현대춤 예술은 추상적 상호 융합과 촉진으로 다양한 소재에 의존하고 있다. 추상적 표현은 무용 예술의 승화를 촉진하고, 무용 예술은 단일한 추상을 더욱 감성적으로 만들었다.
