Abstract
본고에서는 16~18세기 비지류 및 전장류에 형상화된 인물의 인식 및 태도, 인물이 구제한 대상, 인물의 구제 방법, 인물에 대한 수혜자의 인식 등을 분석하여 경재호시 화소의 내용을 살펴보고 그 의미를 사회적 측면과 문학적 측면에서 고찰하였다. 먼저 사회적, 경제적 변화로 혼란스러웠던 16~18세기에 각 인물은 유학의 질서 및 윤리를 옹호한 지배층으로서 자신의 재물과 능력을 활용하여 곤란한 처지에 있는 백성을 물심양면으로 도와주었고 사회적 병폐를 해결하였다. 이러한 그들의 선행과 업적은 군주를 보필하는 신하로서 왕도 정치를 구현하기 위해 제 역할을 다한 결과였다. 다음으로 경재호시 화소의 선행은 신분적, 경제적 결핍을 해소하기 위해 치부에 대한 욕망을 실현한 인물의 행적이 서술된 치부담의 선행이나 사회적 환원에 대한 피지배층의 염원이 반영된 적선담의 선행과 구별되었다. 그래서 경재호시 화소는 망자가 지배층의 본보기 내지 현실적 인재상임을 드러내어, 비지류 및 전장류를 통해 가문의 위상을 제고하고자 하는 지배층의 서술 목적에 부합함을 확인하였다. Analyzing perception and attitude of character, persons that characters relieved, how to relieve, and perception of persons toward characters that configured in bijiryu and jeonjangryu of Joseon from the 16th to 18th centuries, I examined contents of the motif that characters made nothing of property and took loyalty seriously so liked to help persons, and I considered meaning of the motif in terms of society and literature. There was confusion because of social and economical changes in Joseon from the 16th to 18th centuries. Characters that were the ruling class to support order and ethics of Confucianism, helped persons a difficult situation making the best use of their own property and ability, and solved social ills. The good deed and achievement of characters were results that they did their best to realize royal politics as retainers to assist monarch. The good deed of the motif was different from the good deed of stories about becoming rich configured persons that fulfilled desire for making money to resolve positional and economical lack and the good deed stories about accumulating virtue that were reflected the ruled class’s wish for social reduction. Therefore I affirmed that the motif showed characters were realistic right people of the ruling class, corresponded with purpose of description of the ruling class that wanted to enhance family status through bijiryu and jeonjangryu.
