록 음악 앨범 커버의 시각적 디자인 요소 특징 연구

Abstract

록 음악(Rock music)은 미국에서 기원하였으며, 특히 유 명가수 인기와 유행에 힘입어 대중음악의 주류로 발전하였 다. 록 음악의 앨범 커버 디자인은 홍보 수단일 뿐만 아니라 예술작품으로서 대중들에게 예술적 가치와 미학적 매력을 느끼는 매체이기도 했다. 소비자가음악 앨범을 접하는 첫 번 째는 앨범의 커버 디자인이기에 정보 전달 기능은 중요한 매 체다. 연구목적은 록 음악 앨범 커버 디자인 사례분석, 시각 요소와 표현 방식과 그 특징을 파악, 이를 통해 향후 효율적 인 앨범 커버디자인 방향성을 제시하는데 있다. 연구범위는 그래미상에서 록 음악을 수상한 앨범 커버 중 최근 10년간 8 개 대표적 밴드의 10개로 한정하였다. 연구방법은 첫째, 록 음악 앨범 커버 사례 분석이 제시된 디자인 특성을 상호비교 분석하는 방식이다. 둘째, 한국과 중국 83명의 설문조사를 진 행, 록 음악 앨범 커버디자인 관련 내용의 형용사 어휘 5개를 추출한 상호비교분석법을 사용하였다. 연구결과, 앨범 커버 디자인의 시각화된 언어는 소비자들에게 음악적 메시지를 표현하기 때문에 디자인 메시지 전달력이 중요하다는 결과를 도출하였다. 더불어 앨범 커버 디자인은 소비자의 심미적 자극을 충족시키는 예술성이 중요한 것을 나타났다. 향후 효율적 록 음악 커버 디자인은 음악적 메시지의 컨셉트 전달과 독자적 개성과 풍부한 예술성이 조화롭게 연출된 전략이 요구된다. Rock music originated in the United States, especial ly famous singer used popularity and popularity to d evelop rock music into the mainstream of popular m usic. The album cover design of rock music is not on ly a means of publicity, but also a medium through which the artistic value and aesthetic charm of works of art can be felt among the public. The first time consumer s encounter a music album is the album's cover design, so the messaging function is an important medium. The purpose of the research is to analyze the case of rock mu sic album cover design, understand the visual elements, expression methods and characteristics, and propose effe ctive rock music album cover design directions in the fut ure. The scope of research is limited to Grammy Awardwinning rock music album covers, 10 album covers of 8 representative bands in the last 10 years. The research method mainly includes two parts. First, compare and an alyze the design features of 10 album covers that put for ward rock music album cover examples. Second, a q uestionnaire survey was conducted among 83 people in South Korea and China, using a comparative analy sis method of 5 adjective words extracted from the d esign of rock music album covers. The research resu lts show that the visual language of album cover desi gn can convey music information, so the ability to de sign information is very important. In addition, in the design of album covers, the artistry that satisfies con sumers' aesthetic stimulation is particularly importa nt. In the future, effective rock music cover design needs to convey the concept of music information and a strategy that perfectly combines independent perso nality and rich artistry.
