Abstract
2020년 초 코로나 바이러스 감염증-19(COVID-19) 사태가 본격화한 이후 전 세계 80% 정도의 교육 시스템은 사태로 인한 영향을 받고 있다. 2020~2021년간 실시간 온라인 수업에 관한 선행연구를 살펴본 결과, Zoom 화상회의 플랫폼이 온라인 수업 과정에서 널리 적용되고 있는 것을 알 수 있다. 그러나 Zoom과 같은 플랫폼은 교육 분야에 맞추어 전문적으로 개발된 도구가 아니기 때문에 현재 교육환경의 수요에 만족시키지 못한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 실시간 온라인 수업에서 교수-학습자 간의 상호작용 문제를 개선하기 위하여 학습분석에서 제시한 도구 설계 및 개발 방법을 적용하여 Zoom 화상회의 플랫폼에 기반한 실시간 온라인 수업 대시보드 도구를 개발해보았다. 그 세부적인 연구내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째 2020-2021년간에 실시간 온라인 수업 관한 선행 연구에서 존재하는 문제를 제시한다. 둘째, Zoom 화상 회의 플랫폼에 대하여 데이터 마이닝을 방법 및 데이터 처리방법을 제시, 개발한다. 끝으로 확보된 데이터를 이용하여 학습분석 도구의 설계 및 개발을 진행하고 본 도구의 유용성을 실제 수업에서 테스트하여 검증한다.| The 80 percent of the world education system has been affected by Covid19 since the beginning of the year 2020. Considering the previous study on the real-time online classes from 2020 to 2021, it is found that Zoom, the video conference platform, has been widely used in the online classes. However, such platform cannot satisfy the demand of the current educational environment since it was not specifically designed to be used for education. This study aims to resolve the interaction problems between professors and students in real-time online classes by developing the dashboard tools of real-time online classes based on Zoom, to which the methods of the tool design and development presented by the learning analytics are applied. This study addresses the matters as follows. What kinds of tools are widely used in the current educational situation, and what problems they have? How we can proceed the data mining in the video conference platform, Zoom? How we can design the tools of learning analytics and develop them by utilizing the collected data? The tools of learning analytics have been developed in order to resolve the above-described problems of the study. The research methodology of the design and development was applied to the tools through four big steps of research procedures. First, I found out the widely used platform of the current real-time online classes and its problems by reviewing the previous study from 2020 to 2021 on the online classes. Next, before proceeding to development, I designed the contents at four dimensions as stakeholders, data environment, the method of the usage and analysis, and the purpose of data analysis based on the ‘learning analytics reference model’ presented by Chatti et al. (2012). In the phase of tool development, Python and Echarts, the tool of data visualization, were used with development of the four development contents, including data mining, data analysis and tool designing, dashboard designing and developing, and tool’s UI display designing and functions combining. Lastly, the degree of the real-time and availability of the data fed back through the dashboard were verified by testing in an actual real-time online class in Zoom and fixing the problems of the tool.
