경기변동에 따른 출산율의 변화

Abstract

본 논문은 인구주택총조사, 인구동향조사, 경제활동인구조사의 지역별 실업률 통 계를 활용하여 경기변동에 따른 출산율의 변화를 살펴본다. 경기변동에 따른, 연간 출 산율의 변동과 코호트의 출산율 변화라는 두 관점에서 최소자승법(OLS)을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연간 출산율 분석에서 실업률이 단기적으로 출산율에 양(+)의 영향을 주 었으며 장기적으로는 출산율에 음(-)의 영향을 주었다. 코호트 출산율 분석에선 분석 에 이용되는 코호트 구간에 따라 실업률의 영향을 다르게 받는 것으로 나타났으며 코 호트의 연령의 증가함에 따라 코호트가 20대에 겪은 실업률의 영향 또한 증가하는 것 으로 나타났다. 또한, 여성이 남성에 비해 실업률에 더 민감하게 반응하는 것으로 분 석 결과가 나왔다. 교육 수준을 나눠서 분석한 것과 통합해서 분석한 것의 결과는 유 의성을 제외하면 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. |This paper examines changes in the fertility rates according to economic fluctuations using the Population Census, birth certificate data from the Vital Statistics, and statistics on the regional unemployment rate from the Economically Active Population Survey. We use the least-square method (OLS) from two perspectives: changes in the annual fertility rate and changes in the cohort-specific fertility rate, according to economic fluctuations. The annual fertility rate analysis showed that the unemployment rate has a positive (+) effect on the fertility rate in the short term and a negative (-) effect on the fertility rate in the long run. The cohort fertility rate analysis showed that the unemployment rate differently affects fertility rate depending on the cohort section. Also, the effects of their 20s unemployment rate are grown as the cohort's childbirth age increases. In addition, the analysis showed that women are more sensitive to the unemployment rate than men. The examination by dividing the education level of our data showed no significant difference from the existing results except significance.
