비즈니스 목적 한국어 어휘 선정 및 교육의 실무적합성 향상 방안 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to review the method of selection of Korean educational lexicon for those who are willing to learn the Korean language for business purpose, and to suggest the method of practical suitability enhancement in education of it in accordance with the varying industrial structure and circumstance inside and outside Korea. In order that, it was performed to select the “important lexicon” among the business Korean textbooks released recently in Korea, and to review the method for the education of the lexicon. First, chapter 1 examines the data on the changing number of labors who are working in korean companies both inside and outside the country, as well as of foreigners who are staying for the purpose of economic activity inside the country. Thereby, it aimed to find the labor market trend for the foreigners attributed by korean companies. At the same time, chapter 1 examines the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the aspect of education demand. The number of applicant for TOPIK decreased in 2020, however, the demand on Korean education was maintained by the rapid increase of the amount of access to the online contents. Chapter 2 defines “Korean for business purpose” and “Korean learner for business purpose”. Thereby, the differentiating features of “business purpose” were drawn from other vocational purposes and the demand of learners on all aspects of “business circumstance”. Furthermore, both a theoretical base of the method of the selection of Korean lexicon for business purpose and a method in education of it was established. Accordingly, chapter 3 attempts to analyze the business Korean textbooks of 5 sets, 8 books recently released in the market, and suggests a method to make an “important lexicon” for the education of it. Quoting the process of lexicon extraction from the ‘target words’, it expects to discern the difference lexicon as featured in each textbook. The chapter proceeds with the analysis of the difference, and with the subjective methods among several ways of lexicon selection as a countermeasure to judge ‘how important each word is in the performing business practice’, giving weight to words by which word is selected by the number of ‘frequent appearance’ 8 practiced staff, each over 10 years experience, were requested to respond to the questionnaire to assess ‘important lexicon’ by 5-point scale, which appeared in more than 3 textbooks. The list was established by the average points given by the staff, which showed the counted significance for each. Chapter 4 suggests the education method for education of Korean lexicon for business purpose. It was premised that the business circumstance varies according to the conditions, and the organization of each textbook would reflect that. Thereon, the chapter compared the subjects of textbooks which were analyzed in the preceding research, with the ones of textbooks analyzed in this study, then drew the directionality. Furthermore, it suggested the thematic education of lexicon would be led by ‘Thematic Relation’ in application of ‘Thematic Clustering’, which is based on ‘field theory’. In addition, as a long-term policy, it was suggested to examine the industries which are expected to expand in the “post-corona-era” and to utilize the contact-free program for teaching and learning. This study provided a critical standpoint on the reviewing “target words” rendered by the business Korean textbooks being released in the market, and selecting educationally “important lexicon”. Particularly, being a Korean for business purpose as a field which will be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, this study significantly points out that tireless efforts need to be made in order to enhance and identify suitable methods to study Korean fo business purposes in practical and effective ways.| 본 연구는 비즈니스 목적으로 한국어를 학습하고자 하는 외국인을 위한 교육용 어휘의 선정 방법을 검토하고, 국내외 변화하는 산업 구조와 환경에 따라 교육의 실무적합성을 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하는 데에 목적을 둔다. 이를 위하여 국내에 출간된 비즈니스 한국어 교재를 중심으로 중요한 어휘를 선정하고 이를 목적에 맞게 교육하기 위한 방안을 검토하였다. 1장에서는 먼저 국내외 기업에 종사하는 업종별 근로자 수와 경제 활동을 위하여 한국에 체류하고 있는 외국인 수의 변화를 살펴봄으로써 한국 기업의 활동에 의한 외국인 대상 일자리 여건 동향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이와 함께 COVID-19의 유행에 따른 교육 수요 측면의 영향을 살펴보았다. TOPIK 응시자 수는 2020년에 감소를 겪었으나 온라인 콘텐츠 이용량이 빠르게 증가함으로써 한국어 교육에 대한 수요는 여전히 유지되고 있었다. 2장에서는 비즈니스 목적 한국어와 비즈니스 목적 한국어 학습자를 정의하였다. 다른 직업 목적과 구분되는 ‘비즈니스 목적’의 특징을 발견하고 ‘비즈니스 환경’이라는 측면에서 학습자의 요구를 구분할 수 있었다. 나아가 비즈니스 목적 한국어 어휘 선정의 방법 측면과 어휘 교육의 방법 측면에서 이론적 근거를 마련하였다. 이에 따라 3장에서는 최근에 시중에 출시된 비즈니스 한국어 교재 5종, 8권에 수록된 목표 어휘를 분석하고 교육을 위하여 ‘중요한 어휘’ 목록을 구축하는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 선행연구에서 제시된 교재의 목표 어휘를 대상으로 한 어휘 추출 방법을 차용하면서, 분석 대상 교재의 차이로 인하여 구축된 어휘 목록에 차이점이 발견될 것으로 예상하였다. 그 차이점을 분석하는 한편, 교재 간 중복도를 중심으로 판단된 ‘중요한 어휘’가 비즈니스 실무를 수행함에 있어서 ‘얼마나 중요한지’ 판단하기 위한 보완책으로서 어휘의 선정 방법 중 주관적 방법을 병행하기로 하였다. 외국인과 함께 근무하는 비즈니스 환경에서 10년 이상의 경력을 가지고 있는 기업 실무자 8명에게 분석 대상 교재 3권 이상에 중복 출현한 ‘중요한 어휘’에 대한 5점 척도의 평가를 의뢰하였고 평균 점수를 산출하여 ‘중요도’를 비교할 수 있는 어휘 목록을 작성하였다. 4장에서는 비즈니스 목적 한국어 어휘의 교육 방안을 제시하였다. 시대의 변화에 따라 비즈니스 환경도 변화하며 각 교재의 주제 구성에 이러한 점이 반영되었을 것이라는 전제로 선행연구에서 다룬 비즈니스 한국어 교재와 최근 출시된 본 연구의 분석 대상 교재의 주제를 비교하고 방향성을 도출하였다. 나아가 어휘장 이론을 바탕으로 하되 ‘어휘의 주제관계’를 중심으로 한 주제군 결집 방식을 적용한 주제 중심 어휘장 교육을 제안하고자 한다. 이에 더하여 장기적인 방향성 측면에서 ‘포스트 코로나’ 시대에 확대될 것으로 예상되는 업종을 알아보고, 교수학습 활동을 위하여 비대면 프로그램을 적극적으로 활용하는 방안을 제안한다. 본 연구는 시중에 출판되고 있는 비즈니스 한국어 교재가 제시하고 있는 목표 어휘의 검토하여 교육적으로 중요한 어휘의 선정에 있어서 비판적인 시각을 제공한다. 특히 COVID-19의 영향으로 인하여 비즈니스 목적 한국어는 가장 큰 변화를 겪을 수 있는 분야로서 실무적합성을 높여나가기 위해 부단한 노력이 수반되어야 함을 지적하고 여러 방안을 제안하는 데에 의의가 있다.
