구의정수장 산업유산을 활용한 교육 프로그램 개발연구: 에코뮤지엄 관점 중심으로

Abstract

Recently museums have been transforming into places that are more closely related to life. The scope of museum exhibitions and museum education is expanding to alleys, villages, cities, and regions. Among these changes, discussions began around 2000 to regenerate aging industrial facilities without demolishing them and use them for urban regeneration. Moreover with the start of cultural heritage protection measures such as ‘Registered cultural properties’ and ‘Seoul Future Heritage’, the value of industrial heritage is being newly evaluated. This research was conducted for the purpose of developing an educational program using the educational contents of industrial heritage, factory No.1&2 of Guui water treatment plant. There are three research problems set up to achieve these research objectives. First, how the industrial heritage of Guui2-dong & Gwangjang-dong and the nearby local heritage meet the components of the eco-museum? Second, in what relationship has the humanities, geography, and social context of Guui2-dong & Gwangjang-dong existed with Guui water treatment plant, which is an industrial heritage? Third, what is the educational contents of Guui water treatment plant, which is an industrial heritage? In order to solve these research problems, documents with industrial heritage and eco-museum as key words were collected and studied. In addition, data on in-depth interviews with workers at the time when Guui water treatment plant functioned as industrial facilities and data such as newspapers, videos, photos, and maps were also utilized to the fullest. Educational programs using Guui water treatment plant as industrial heritage was designed followed by analysis, design, development stage among Instructional System Design. In the first step for developing program, existing program analysis, education target analysis, and task analysis were conducted. Through this analysis, it was found that more than half of the visitors for Guui water treatment plant accounted for by student visitors, and the need to develop a program using educational content of industrial heritage was derived. In addition, in order to fully understand the entire production and supply process of tap water, it was confirmed that it is needed to utilize related resources near Guui water treatment plant. Based on the above analysis results, Guui 2-dong and Gwangjang-dong were set as eco-museum territory and resources including Guui water treatment plant were set as eco-museum heritage from a researcher’s point of view. Then, task analysis was conducted to extract educational content. As a result of data collection and analysis, the memories of workers of Guui water purification plant, related industrial facilities, industrial heritage, surrounding environment were extracted as the main educational contents. And educational contents were classified based on these. And as learning elements, water flow, water purification process and principles, labor memory, place memory, and surrounding landscape were extracted as detailed elements. Based on these, an overview of newly developed program “Han River, Mt. Achasan and our neighborhood, water purification plant” conducted in 5 sessions, teaching-learning guidance plans for each session, and learning materials. As a result of the study, the possibility of industrial heritage education through an eco-museum approach was confirmed. In addition, it was found that a series of processes in which local industrial facilities are formed, developed, declined, and regenerated as industrial heritage are linked to the local humanities, geography, and social environment. Also the labor memory, place memory, functional systems as industrial facilities, and the connection with the surrounding local environment were derived as educational contents of industrial heritage. Through this study, it is expected to open a new perspective on understanding the region belonged to program participants by providing them with opportunities to look at the region's industrial heritage from various angles. In addition, it is hoped that a balanced perspective for regional development will be formed and regional identity will be strengthen by enhancing the understanding of regional-based industrial facilities.

Key words : Eco-museum, Industrial Heritage, Museum Education|최근 박물관은 삶과 더욱 밀접한 장소로 변화하고 있다. 기존 ‘박물관’에서 전통적으로 해오던 전시와 교육 범위가 골목길과 마을, 도시, 그리고 지역 전체로 확대되고 있다. 이러한 변화 가운데 2000년경부터 노후화된 산업시설을 철거하지 않고 이를 재활용하여 도시 재생에 활용하기 위한 논의가 일기 시작하였다. 더욱이 등록문화재나 서울미래유산과 같은 문화재 보호 조치로 산업유산의 가치가 새롭게 조명되고 있는 것이다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 분위기 속에서 2007년 국가등록문화재에 등록된 산업유산 구의정수장을 연구대상으로 하였다. 그리고 이 산업유산의 교육적 콘텐츠를 활용한 교육프로그램 개발을 목적으로 연구를 진행하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 설정한 연구문제는 다음 세 가지이다. 첫 번째, 산업유산인 구의정수장을 중심으로 한 인근 지역의 문화 자원이 에코뮤지엄의 구성요소를 어떻게 충족하는지를 확인하는 것이다. 두 번째는 연구대상 지역의 인문·지리·사회적 맥락이 산업유산 구의정수장과 어떤 관계성 속에서 존재해 오고 있는지를 분석하는 것이다. 세 번째는 산업유산인 구의정수장에서 교육적으로 활용할 수 있는 콘텐츠는 무엇인지를 탐구하는 것이다. 이러한 연구문제를 해결하기 위해서 산업유산과 에코뮤지엄을 주제어로 하는 관련 문헌을 수집하고 연구하였다. 여기에 산업유산이 산업시설로서 제 기능을 할 당시의 근로자와의 심층면담 자료와 신문·영상·사진·지도 등의 자료도 최대한 활용하였다. 한편 산업유산 콘텐츠를 활용한 교육프로그램을 설계함에 있어서 교수체제설계의 분석, 설계, 개발 단계를 따랐다. 첫 번째 분석단계에서는 기존 프로그램 분석, 교육대상 분석, 과제분석을 시행하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 구의정수장 견학자 중 절반 이상은 학생 방문객이 차지한다는 점에서 산업유산의 교육 콘텐츠를 활용한 프로그램 개발 필요성이 도출되었다. 또한 수돗물 생산에 있어서 공급 전체 과정에 대한 이해를 위해, 구의정수장 인근의 관련 자원 활용 필요성을 확인되었다. 이상의 분석 결과를 토대로 에코뮤지엄 관점에서 산업유산인 구의정수장에 대한 교육 프로그램을 개발하였다. 또한 연구대상 자원의 지역적 기반을 이루고 있는 ‘구의2동’과 ‘광장동’을 에코뮤지엄 영역으로 설정하고, 이 가운데 산업유산과 관련된 자원들을 에코뮤지엄 자원으로 설정하여 교육적 콘텐츠 추출을 위한 과제 분석을 진행하였다. 자료수집과 분석결과 산업유산 구의정수장 및 인근 관련 산업시설 및 산업유산과 주변환경, 그리고 정수장 근로자의 기억이 주요 콘텐츠로 추출되었고, 이를 중심으로 하는 교육적 콘텐츠들을 분류하였다. 그리고 프로그램에 반영할 학습요소로서, 물의 흐름, 정수원리 및 개념, 노동의 기억, 장소기억, 주변 경관 등이 세부요소로 추출되었다. 이를 토대로 5차시로 진행되는 프로그램 개요 및 차시별 교수-학습 지도안, 그리고 학습 자료를 개발하였다. 연구결과로 에코뮤지엄 관점을 도입한 산업유산 교육의 가능성을 확인하였다. 그리고 지역의 산업시설이 형성되고 발달하고 쇠퇴하고, 산업유산으로 다시 태어나는 일련의 과정에서 지역의 인문/지리/사회적 환경과 연계되어 있음을 파악하였다. 또한 산업시설 근무자로부터 수집한 노동의 기억과 장소기억, 장소 흔적 및 산업시설로서의 기능체계, 그리고 인근 지역 환경과의 연관성 등이 교육적 콘텐츠로 도출되었다. 본 연구를 통해서 산업유산을 다각도로 살펴볼 수 있는 기회를 제공함으로써 프로그램 참여자에게 지역을 이해하는 새로운 시각을 열어주고자 한다. 아울러 참여자들의 지역을 기반으로 한 산업시설에 대한 이해도를 높임은 물론, 이로 인해 지역 정체성이 강화됨으로써 지역을 바라보는 균형 잡힌 시각이 형성될 것이다.
