뉴미디어를 활용한 이미지 무용작품 특성

Abstract

뉴미디어 무용은 세계적으로 보편적이고 고속 발전되어나가 무용예술 창작에 대해 더 많은 가능성을 열어두고 있다. 안무가와 뉴미디어 아티스트의 협업으로 우수한 뉴미디어 무용작품들이 쏟아져 나왔고, 그 작품들은 무용 예술 분야와 디지털 기술 분야에게 많은 놀라움을 가져주면서 관객들의 인정을 받았다. 뉴미디어 무용예술은 디지털 기술과 무용예술이 융합되면서 생겨난 새로운 예술형태로, 무대 형식과 창작이념이 큰 연구 가치가 있다. 무용예술에서의 측면에서 뉴미디어 무용예술의 개념과 특징, 발전 현황을 설명하고, 무대효과 측면에서 뉴미디어 무용작품에 활용된 무대 영상 기술, 조명 기술, 장치 기술을 요약해 분석했다. 무라드 메르주키(Mourad Merzouki)의 「픽셀 Pixel」과 청키 무브(Chunky Move)의 「모탈 엔진 Mortal Engine」을 중심으로 안무가 소개, 안무작업의 기술적 요소, 작품에 내재된 디지털 이미지 세 가지 측면을 통해 뉴미디어 이미지 무용작품의 특성을 구체적으로 분석했다. 앞선 뉴미디어 무용단과 무용작품을 연구한 후 기술과 예술이 결합된 표현요소의 상관성을 파악함과 더불어, 디지털 기술이 무용예술 내외적으로 미치는 영향을 분석했다.

The collaboration of choreographers and new media artists resulted in excellent new media dance works, which were recognized by the audience as they surprised the dance arts and digital technology fields. New media dance art is a new art form created by the convergence of digital technology and dance art. Its stage form and creative philosophy have great research value. In terms of dance art, the concept, characteristics, and development status of new media dance art are explained, and in terms of stage effects, stage image technology, lighting technology, and device technology used in new media dance works are summarized and analyzed. Focusing on Mourad Merzouki's 「Pixel」 and Chunky Move's 「Mortal Engine」 The characteristics of image dance works were analyzed in detail. After studying the previous new media dance troupes and dance works, the correlation between expression elements combining technology and art was identified, and the influence of digital technology inside and outside the dance arts was analyzed.
