『서유기』와 <대화서유> 비교 연구: 개혁개방 이후 중국 사회의 하위문화와 반영웅 형상

Abstract

이 연구는 90년대 중국은 개혁개방을 거치면서 여러 면에서 큰 변화를 겪었고, 이로 인해 중국인들, 특히 젊은이들의 심리에 어떤 영향을 끼쳤는지 분석하는 연구이다. 이를 위해, 본 연구는 중국 전통 소설 <서유기> 와 1995년에 중국에서 개봉된 영화 <대화서유> 를 비교해서 연구하였다. 중국 사회가 수많은 불안 끝에 정상 발전의 길을 걷게 됐고, 과거 '문화대혁명 '으로 인한 손실을 메우기 위해서는 경제 정치 과학기술 등 모든 면에서 고속 발전이 필요하다. 사회 발전하는 리듬이 빨라지면서 사람들이 적응이 안 되지만 적응할 수밖에 없는 경우가 많아지고 있다. 따라서 사회의 흐름대로 해야 하느냐 자신이 원하는 대로 해야 하느냐 같은 문제는 개인 문제뿐만 아니라 전 사회적인 문제가 되었다. 그러므로 이러한 시기에 <대화서유>가 갑자기 중국인한테 큰 호응을 받았다. 전통의 시각으로 보면 '말도 안 된다'는 영화가 오히려 젊은 사람들을 위로해주었다. 그래서 이러한 사회 배경 중에서 <대화서유>가 과연 어떠한 힘이 있는지 또 어떠한 의미가 있는지 연구할 의미가 있다. 분석한 결과, 첫째, 텍스트 측면에 <대화서유>는 원작 스토리를 전체적으로 전복해서 새로운 플롯과 인물을 만들었는데 이러한 새로운 인물과 스토리는 90년대 젊은 사람들의 면모를 표현할 수 있는 것이다. 둘째, <대화서유> 영화 중에 체현한 ‘하위문화’와 ‘반영웅 형상’을 통해서 새로운 시대 앞에 젊은 사람들은 현실 사회를 반항하면서 또 합류할 수밖에 없는 복잡하며 혼란한 심리 상태를 보여주는 것이다. <대화서유> 중 주인공 지존보(至尊寶)는 손오공의 다음 생인데 전에 손오공과 완전히 다른 이미지로 나왔지만 모든 고난을 겪고 나서 결국에는 자신의 신분을 인정하고 책임을 지게 되었다. 여기서 대부분 젊은 사람들의 현실을 반영한다. 처음에는 자신의 마음대로 살고 있다가 직면할 수밖에 없는 좌절 앞에서 자신의 꿈과 이상을 버리고 현실한테 타협하는 경우는 급속도로 발전해서 점점 경솔해지는 사회 환경과 관련된 것이다. 이러한 이유로 <대화서유>는 젊은 사람들이 말하지 못한 것을 영화 중에서 담았기 때문에 '웃음'에서 '눈물'이 있는 효과를 만들었다. 이것은 영화는 현실과 부딪혀서 생기는 현실적인 의미다.

To this end, this study is focused on the traditional Chinese novel 『The Journey to the West』 and the movie <A Chinese Odyssey> for a camparision. Chinese society in the 1990s finally began to drive normally after experiencing numerous changes. In order to make up for the losses and deficits caused by the 'cultural revolution' in the past, it proceeded at a very rapid pace in terms of economy, politics, science, and technology. China has also gradually become a society led by 'consumption culture'. As the rhythm of society accelerates, people are unable to adapt, but more and more people have no choice but to adapt. Therefore, the question of whether to follow the flow of society or do what one wants is no longer an individual problem, but a whole society problem. However, during this period, <A Chinese Odyssey> suddenly received great response from the Chinese. From a traditional point of view, the movie "Unbelievable" rather cared for young people. Therefore, among these social backgrounds, it is meaningful to study the power and meaning of <A Chinese Odyssey>. As a result of the analysis, first, on the side of the text, <A Chinese Odyssey> overturned the original story as a whole to create new plots and characters, and these new characters can express the aspects of young people in the 1990s. Second, through the "subculture" and "anti-hero" embodied in the movie <A Chinese Odyssey>, it shows a complex and - 33 - confused psychological state in which young people have no choice but to rebel and join the real society in front of the new era. Zhi Zunbao, the main character in <A Chinese Odyssey>, is the next life of Sun Wukong, and he came out with a completely different image than Sun Wukong before, but even if he denied himself after all the hardships, he eventually regained his identity and took responsibility. This reflects the reality of most young people. At first, they often abandon their dreams and ideals in frustration that they have no choice but to face and compromise with reality, so it is related to a large environment in a society that develops rapidly and becomes rash. For this reason, <A Chinese Odyssey> contained what young people could not say in the movie, creating an effect with "tears" among "smile." This is a realistic meaning that occurs when a movie collides with reality
