아녜스 바르다의 21세기 작품에서의 씨네크뤼튀르와 상호미디어성

Abstract

본 논문은 아녜스 바르다의 2000년대 이후 작품들에 실현되는 씨네크리튀르(영화-쓰기)와 상호미디어성을 작가주의적 비평과 텍스트 분석의 방법론을 통해 밝힌다. 바르다는 영화언어를 향한 자신의 미학적 결정들의 집합을 가리키는 자기반영적 탐색에 대해 씨네크리튀르라는 용어를 창안했다. 본 논문은 에세이 영화적 다큐멘터리나 공유와 참여를 중시하는 설치미술 작업에 몰두해온 2000년대 이후 씨네크리튀르의 성찰성이 확장했음을 밝힌다. 둘 이상의 서로 다른 미디어가 서로를 참조하며 상호작용하는 양상을 가리키는 개념인 ‘상호미디어성’은 자신의 영화 속에 회화와 사진 등 인접 예술의 관계를 반영하고 이러한 반영을 설치미술의 형식으로 확장한 바르다의 씨네크리튀르를 조명한다. 이와 같은 고찰을 통해 본 논문은 전통적인 영화관 중심의 영화에 국한되어 있었던 바르다에 대한 국내 기존 연구의 영역을 확장한다. Drawing on the methods of auteurist criticism and textual analysis, this paper examines how the ideas of cinécriture (cine-writing) and intermediality are operated in Agnès Varda’s films and installations in the 2000s. Varda invented the cinécriture to refer to her self-reflexive inquiry into a set of aesthetic decisions she made for her film language. In this sense, her work on essay films and installations since the 2000s is seen to deepen this reflexivity. The concept of intermediality, which concerns the ways in which two or more different media refer to interact with each other, is effective to approaching Varda’s cinécriture in the 2000s which aimed to reflect on the relationship between cinema and other arts such as paintings and photographs in her films and to expand this reflection into her video and mixed-media installations. By examining Varda’s works in the 2000s this way, this paper expands the existing domestic studies on Varda that has tended to privilege her theatrical films.
