Purpose: Firstly, it is to identify issues and challenges that the South Korea Women’s national volleyball team select and treat its players. Secondly, it is to identify the potential issues and problems in the process of national team selection and thus suggest the critical implications to the managers and administrators in the field. Method: In order to achieve the proposed research goals and objectives, South Korea national women’s volleyball team members (i.e., players, team doctors, trainers, and fans) were approached and asked in-depth face-to-face interviews. Results: First, South Korea women’s nationally volleyball team members strongly agreed that the allowed number of players on the team roster should be increased in order to minimize the chances of being injured and exploited. Second, they asserted that the financial compensations, incentives and perks were not quite close to what they believed they deserve. Lastly, they strongly suggest that the national youth team development program was desperately needed and required to better perform in the international competitions in the future. Conclusion: In summary, the findings in this study confirm that the Korea Volleyball Association, which manages the national teams, and the Korea Volleyball Federation (KOVO), which supervises the professional volleyball league, should provide financial support conditions to motivate the team & better training environment.en_US
