Abstract
The partial sensing technique is for a Pedestrian UE (P-UE) operating in the signal environment of mode-2 sidelink to save its power consumption. However, since the data transmission is allowed only for the window duration of each corresponding P-UE, the partial sensing causes the throughput of each P-UE to be decreased by the ratio between the given window width and the entire data period. This paper presents a novel method of enhancing the throughput of P-UE that operates with the partial sensing in the mode-2 sidelink. The proposed technique employs an additional UE, denoted as Roadside unit (RSU), in order to collect the sensing results from all the P-UEs each of which operates with the partial sensing. The proposed RSU aligns all the partial sensing windows sequentially such that the combination of every partial sensing window can eventually provide nearly a full sensing result. Through the extensive computer simulations, it has been found that the proposed method enhances the throughput of each P-UE operating with the partial sensing almost to that of the full sensing without increasing the power consumption required for the sensing.|Partial sensing 기술은 mode-2 sidelink 통신 환경에서 동작하는 P-UE (Pedestrian UE)의 전력 소비를 절약하기 위한 방법이다. 그러나 데이터 전송이 해당 P-UE의 window duration 내에서만 허용되기 때문에 partial sensing은 주어진 window width와 total window duration간의 비율만큼 각 P-UE의 throughput을 감소시킨다. 본 논문에서는 mode-2 sidelink에서 partial sensing을 기반으로 동작하는 P-UE의 throuhgput을 향상시키는 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 기술은 partial sensing 기반으로 동작하는 모든 P-UE들로부터 sensing 결과를 수집하기 위해 RSU (Roadside Unit)라고 하는 추가적인 entity를 사용한다. RSU는 모든 partial sensing window의 조합이 full sensing한 결과를 제공할 수 있도록 모든 partial sensing window들을 순차적으로 정렬한다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 방법은 sensing에 필요한 전력 소비를 낮게 유지시키는 한편, partial sensing 기반으로 동작하는 각 P-UE의 throuhgput을 full sensing의 throughput에 가깝게 향상시키는 것으로 나타났다.
