개혁 개방 이후의 중국의 사랑: 드라마 <겨우, 서른>에 재현된 사랑과 결혼에 대한 인식의 변화

Abstract

This thesis explicates Nothing but Thirty (2020), a Chinese drama series, to determine how dating, love and marriage in modern Chinese society changed after China’s reform and opening by the influence of Western capitalism and how the Western ideology of capitalism assimilated with Chinese society. Nothing but Thirty presents three love stories of three women living in the city of Shanghai. The love each character experiences appears to be perfect, but each story is about how the lead character goes through an ordeal and eventually grows in her own ways. The drama faithfully conveys how living as adults in their thirties is not easy and troubled, allowing contemporary women in their thirties to sympathize and identify with the characters. The drama has substantial implications for real life because it reproduced a variety of images of women while covering a wide range of topics including family love, love, friendship, and business, but with a focus on women's growth. Above all, the drama deals with social issues honestly, neither with exaggeration or embellishment, and delicately depicts the psychological changes of the characters by addressing specific problems. It attempted to convey the positive value of “still thirty,” instead of “already thirty” of women who go through dating, marriage and love without being discouraged even though they are unskilled at and challenged by them. Keywords: Reform and opening, awareness change, barely thirty, only thirty, Chinese modern society, love, Marriage|본 논문은 개혁 개방 이후의 연애, 사랑, 결혼의 변화를 드라마 <겨우, 서른>을 통해 서구 자본주의의 영향으로 중국 현대 사회에서 연애, 사랑, 결혼이 어떻게 변화하였는지, 서구 자본주의 사상이 중국에서 어떻게 융합되었는 지를 살펴보고자 한다. <겨우, 서른>은 상하이라는 도시에 살고 있는 세 명의 여성이 겪는 세 가지 종류의 사랑이야기이다. 그들이 겪는 사랑이 하나하나가 완벽해 보이는 듯 하지만, 결국 시련을 겪고 각자만의 모습으로 성장 해나가는 스토리이다. 서른 즈음의 어른이 세상을 살아나가는 쉽지 않은 모습과 애틋함이 고스란히 묻어나고, 동시대를 살아가는 30대 여성들에게 공감과 울림을 주는 작품이다. 여성 성장 화제에 초점을 맞춰 가족애, 사랑, 우정, 사업 등을 넘나들며 다양한 여성상을 만들어낸 드라마로 실생활에 시사하는 바가 크다. 무엇보다 사회적 이슈를 진솔하게 보여주고, 과장하지도 꾸미지도 않고, 구체적인 문제들을 던져 인물의 심리 변화를 섬세하게 묘사하였다. 연애, 결혼, 사랑을 넘은 여성들의 서툴고 어렵지만 좌절하지 않은 “벌써, 서른”이 아닌 “아직, 서른”인 긍정적인 가치관을 전달하고자 하였다.
