재북 시기의 백석 문학 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 재북 시기(분단 이후)의 백석 문학을 ‘동물’ ‘노동’ ‘자연’이라는 세 개의 키워드를 통해 분석한다. 이를 통해 시인이 분단 이전에 천착했던 토속적 상징과 신화를 상상력, 그리고 이를 통해 탈근대에 도달하는 방식에 대해 살펴보려 한다. 백석은 정지용, 이상, 윤동주 등과 함께 한국 근대시를 표상하는 대표적인 시인으로 손꼽히는데, 그의 시는 해금 직후부터 1990년대에 걸친 시기뿐만 아니라 2000년대 중반 이후에도 폭발적으로 쏟아져 나왔지만, 2000년대 이후에 출간된 백석의 전집들에 대해서는 면밀한 검토가 이루어지지 못했다. 특히 분단 이후의 시에 대해서는 여전히 북한 공산주의 체제를 옹호하는 수준 낮은 작품으로 폄하되고 있으며, 전문 연구자들로부터도 ‘백석은 분단 이후 북쪽에서도 얼마간 작품활동을 했지만, 백석 시의 본령은 그 이전에 발표한 작품들에 있다고 할 수 있다’는 평가를 받고 있다. 본 논문은 백석 후기시에 대한 이러한 판단을 재고하고, 그의 시가 가진 토속적 상상력과 신화적 힘을 ‘동물,’ ‘노동’, ‘자연’이라는 키워드로 분석해 초‧중기 시의 연장선상에서 파악하려고 한다. 백석은 김소월과 한용운, 정지용이 마련한 한국 현대시의 기반에 새로운 시의 문법을 세움으로써 우리 시의 언어적 향취의 결을 넓히는 데 기여했다. 평안 방언을 비롯한 여러 지역의 언어들을 시 안으로 가져와 옛말과 토착어를 적절한 위치에 배치함으로써 모국어를 확장시켰다. 또한 우리말의 단어들이 가진 의미들을 여러 맥락 속에서 변주하여 개인적 체험의 세계를 보편적 경험의 세계로 재현하였다. 백석의 시는 전통적인 서정시 형식 대신 자연물과 신화, 전설을 떠올리게 하는 이야기 구조를 갖춘 서사지향적인 시를 보여준다. 또한 그의 시에서는 시각적 감각뿐 아니라 미각, 촉각 등 우리 신체를 통해 느낄 수 있는 모든 감각이 사용되어 대상의 ‘드러나지 않는 부분’을 시라는 초월적 공간에 걸맞게 드러낸다. 그는 구체적인 생활 현장에서 벌어지는 삶의 면면들을 시로 재현해냄으로써 풍속사적인 의의를 담고 있기도 하다. 분단 이후의 시에서도 그의 이러한 특징들은 꾸준하게 유지되고, 특히 동물 화자를 통해 전개되는 서사나 음식을 통해 드러나는 축제와 공동체의 알레고리는 분단 이전보다 더 섬세해지기도 했다. 본 논문은 백석 후기 시를 ‘동물’ ‘노동’ ‘자연’이라는 키워드로 분석해 그의 후기 시의 독특한 미적 성취를 밝히는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. |This paper divides Baishi’s literature in the northern period (after the split) into three keywords “animal”, “labor” and "nature". Through this point we can see the native symbols and myths of the poet through imagination before the split and the way to get rid of modern times. Baishi together with Zheng Zhiyong, Li Shang and Yin Dongzhu, he was selected as a representative poet in Korean modern poetry. His poems were not only released in the 1990s, but also in the mid-2000s. Although there was an explosion after that, the complete works of Baishi published have not been studied carefully after the 2000s. Especially for the poems after split, it is belittled as a low-level work supporting the Communist system of Korea, and from the professional researchers "After the division of Baishi, some works were also carried out in the north, but the essence of Baishi poem, it can be said that it was in the previous published works. This paper reconsiders this kind of judgment of later Baishi, his poetry has folksy imagination and mythological power by analyzing the keywords of “animal”, “labor” and “nature”, it can be mastered them on the extension line of early-middle period poetry Baishi is Kim SuYue and Han Longyun, Zheng Zhiyong prepared Korean modern poetry based on the grammar of new poetry. Through the establishment of it, it has contributed to the expansion of our poetry's language tendency. As Ping’an dialect is the first Bring languages from different regions to the poetry and put archaic and Aboriginal languages in order, so it has expanded mother tongue. In addition, the meaning of words in our language in each context, represents the world of personal experience as the world of universal experience. Bai Shi’s poetry is not traditional Lyric forms, but natural objects and myths. It shows a narrative poetry with a story structure reminiscent of legend. In addition, there is not only sense of vision, but also sense of taste and touch in his poems. We use all the feelings we feel through our bodies to match the “unexposed part” of the object with the transcendental space of poetry. He reappeared the life appearance in the concrete life scene with poems, which has the significance of custom history. After the split, these characteristics have been maintained in his poems, especially through the narration of animal frames or the celebration of food and the community of allegory, which is more delicate than before. This paper analyzes Baishi’s later poems with the keywords of “animal”, “labor” and “nature” in order to reveal the unique aesthetic achievements of his later poems.
