COVID-19 상황에서 장기요양시설 입소노인 가족의 면회 제한 경험

Abstract

With COVID-19 spreading worldwide as a pandemic and no treatment has been developed, the elderly living in long-term care facilities living in groups are vulnerable to infection, and the environment of the facility has a very high risk of transmission of infection. Visits between long-term care facility residents and their families were restricted. This study was attempted to be helpful in setting the direction of nursing intervention to support families by in-depth understanding of what families experienced for the first time experiencing limited visitation. This study used a qualitative content analysis method to identify what kind of experience they had by checking and understanding the situation in which visitation was restricted from the perspective of the family to prevent infection due to COVID-19. The data collection period is from January 21, 2021 to February 28, 2021, when the data has reached saturation. It was sampled using extraction. Data were collected through telephone interviews using semi-structured questions and analyzed through the qualitative content analysis procedure of Graneheim and Lundman (2004). As a result of the study, as visits were limited, the family experienced a changed reality regardless of their will, and they were performing their role well as a family, indicating the family's wish for everyone's safety. Through this study, a nursing intervention that can support families who have experienced such a situation should be developed and applied to another new infectious disease outbreak, and nursing facilities should also seek ways to satisfy both families and residents. | 전 세계적으로 COVID-19가 유행병으로 확산되고 치료제가 개발되지 않은 현재, 단체 생활을 하는 장기요양시설의 입소노인들은 감염에 취약하고 시설의환경은 감염전파 위험성이 매우 높아 감염관리를 철저하게 하기 위하여 장기요양시설입소자와 가족간의 면회를 제한하였다. 본 연구는 면회 제한을 처음 겪은 가족들이 어떠한 경험을 하였는지 심층적으로 파악하여 가족들을 지지하는 간호중재의 방향 설정에 도움이 되고자 시도되었다. 본 연구는 질적 내용분석 방법을 사용하여 COVID-19로 인한 감염 예방을 위해 면회가 제한이 된 상황을 가족들의 관점에서 확인하고 이해함으로써 어떠한 경험을 하였는지 파악하였다. 자료수집기간은 2021년 1월 21일부터 자료의 포화상태에 이른 2021년 2월 28일까지이고 경기도 P시의 요양시설 2곳과, 충남 N시의 요양시설 1곳의 입소 보호자를 목적적 표본추출을 이용하여 표집하였다. 반구조화된 질문을 사용하여 전화통화로 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하였고, Graneheim과 Lundman(2004)의 질적내용 분석 절차를 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과 면회가 제한되면서 가족들은 의지와 상관없이 변화된 현실을 겪으면서 가족으로서의 역할을 잘 해내고 있었고 모두의 안전을 위한 가족의 바람을 나타내었다. 본 연구를 통해 이러한 상황을 경험한 가족들을 지지할 수 있는 간호 중재를 개발하여 또 다른 새로운 감염병 발생시에도 적용할 수 있어야 하고, 요양시설도 가족과 입소자 모두를 만족시킬 수 있는 방법을 모색해야 할 것이다.
