The Impact of the Asia-Pacific Rebalancing Strategy during the Obama Administration on the Relationship between South Korea and China

Abstract

This research seeks, through an analysis of the domestic and international background of Obama's Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy and examines the effect of this strategy on the security, economic and diplomatic aspects of South Korea and China; It is believed that the Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy has strengthened the position of the United States in the Asia-Pacific region, intensified tensions in the Asia-Pacific region, increased pressure on the rise of China, at the same time strengthened the Korean-U.S. military alliance, and the economic relationship between South Korea. Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy has affected China's economy; It has a limited impact on the economic relations between South Korea and China. However, this strategy weakened the foundation of strategic mutual trust between South Korea and China in the two areas of security and diplomacy.
