A Study on Healthcare Providers Acceptance of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) in the Philippines

Abstract

Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is the application of “Internet of Things” technology in healthcare and is significantly transforming the industry especially in this COVID-19 pandemic. This paper presents the analysis on the acceptance of IoMT by healthcare providers in the Philippines using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by Davis (1989). Data were collected from 186 respondents through an online survey and results were tested using multiple regression analysis to examine the correlations between four variables: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward using and behavioral intention to use. After conducting the test, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly affected the attitude of healthcare providers toward using IoMT. However, perceived usefulness has no impact on the behavioral intention to use IoMT. The results of this study could be a reference on future research and developments of IoMT technology in healthcare services in the country.|의료사물인터넷(IoMT)는 사물인터넷(IoT) 기술을 의료 분야에 적용한 것으로, 특히 코로나-19 전염병의 위험 속에서 산업의 중요한 변화를 일으키고 있다. 본 논문은 1989년 데이비스에 의해 개발된 기술수용모델(TAM)을 사용하여 필리핀 의료종사자에 의한 IoMT 수용에 대한 분석을 제시한다. 온라인 설문조사를 통해 186명의 응답자로부터 데이터를 수집했으며, 지각된 유용성, 지각된 용이성, 사용자 태도 및 사용 의도 등의 네 가지 변수 사이의 상관관계를 조사하기 위해 다중회귀분석 방식을 사용하여 결과를 실험하였다. 실험을 수행한 후, 지각된 유용성 및 지각된 용이성은 IoMT 사용에 대한 의료종사자의 태도에 상당한 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만 지각된 유용성은 IoMT 사용 의도에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과는 국내 의료 서비스에 대한 IoMT 기술의 향후 연구 및 개발에 대한 참조 자료가 될 수 있다.
