dc.description.abstract | In general, Automated Slorage/Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) have cells of equal size. But they are inadequate and inefficient to meet the various customers' demands in today's business environment. AS/RS is very expensive and difficult to change once it has been constructed. So, higher utilization of warehouse storage can be achieved by using AS/RS with cells of different size. In this paper, we propose an optimization model and an algorithm for the design of AS/RS with cells of different size. By using the proposed procedure, AS/RS can be designed accurately, economically and efficiently. | en_US |
