팀장의 리더십이 승무원의 자기효능감 및 안전행동에 미치는 영향 : 비행 전 객실브리핑을 중심으로

Abstract

안전과 직결되는 항공사 객실브리핑의 중요성에도 불구하고, 기존의 선행연구에서는 비행 전 브리핑과 객실승무원의 안전행동 간의 연관관계를 알아보는 연구는 아직까지 제한적으로 진행되어왔다. 본 연구의 목적은 비행 전 객실브리핑시 승무원의 자기효능감 및 안전행동에 영향을 미치는 팀장의 리더십을 파악하고, 팀장의 리더십과 승무원의 자기효능감 간의 영향관계 검증을 시도하고자 한다. 또한, 리더십이 승무원의 안전행동에 미치는 영향이 맥락적 요인에 따라 어떠한 차이를 나타내는지를 확인하고자 한다. 연구는 2019년 10월부터 11월까지 약 2개월간 자기기입식 및 온라인 설문조사 방법으로 국내 K항공사 객실승무원(팀장, 부팀장 직급 제외)을 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구는 객실브리핑시 팀장의 리더십의 유효성을 실증적으로 입증하며, 승무원(팀원)과의 영향관계에 대해 연구함으로서 연구의 폭을 넓힐 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 이러한 이론이 관광 관련 전반적인 산업 분야에 적용될 수 있음을 확인하는 것이다. 또한 항공업에 종사하는 인적자원들을 관리함에 있어서, 관리업무를 맡은 이들에게 객실승무원들의 자기효능감을 보다 효율적으로 고취시킬 수 있는 실무적 방안을 수립하는 것에 기여할 것이며, 항공사별로 특별한 사정이나 상황에 따라 변하지 않는 보편적인 메뉴얼 형성에 도움이 되는 방안을 제공할 것이다. 이로 인해 기내에서 발생할 수 있는 사고율은 낮추고 업무성과는 높일 수 있을 것이다. In spite of the importance of airline cabin briefing, which is directly related to safety, previous studies on the relationship between cabin briefing and cabin crew safety behavior have been limited. The purpose of this study is to identify the leadership of team leaders who affect the self-efficacy and safety behavior of crew during cabin briefing before flight, and attempt to verify the relationship between the leadership of team leader and self-efficacy of crew. In addition, this study aimed to identify how the leadership influences the crew’s safety behavior depending on the contextual factors. The study was conducted with cabin crews (excluding team leaders and vice team leaders) of domestic Korean airlines, using self-assessment and online surveys for approximately two months from October to November 2019. This study empirically proves the effectiveness of the team leader’s leadership in cabin briefings, and expands the scope of the study by studying the relationship with the crew (team members). It also confirms that this theory can be applied to the overall tourism industry. In addition, in managing the human resources in the aviation industry, it will contribute to establishing practical measures that will enhance the self-efficacy of cabin crew more effectively for those in charge of management. The results will also provide a way to help build a universal manual. This will reduce the accident rate that can occur in the cabin and improve the performance of the aircraft.
