Abstract
A specific bottom topography is known to have a capability to reflect incident water waves resonantly. For the possible application to the control of beach erosion the resonant reflection of water waves is investigated in this study. Four different shapes of submerged breakwaters are employed and compared for reflecting capability of incident monochromatic waves. By comparing reflection coefficients and sectional areas, the trapezoidal shape is recommended for a submerged breakwater.
