Effect of trans-polyoctylene rubber(TOR) on the properties of asphalt/GTR mixture

Abstract

Polymer-modified asphalts are prepared by incorporating ground tire rubber(GTR) powders and a transpolyoctylene rubber(TOR) in asphalt. Physical and mechanical properties of the mixtures were characterized by needle penetration and softening point methods, and tensile strength measurement. A small amount of addition of TOR improves the rheological and mechanical properties significantly.
