dc.description.abstractIn this thesis, I proposed a high frequency filter for RF port filter operating at the frequency range of 3MHz to 30MHz for E1 High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse protection (HEMP). The proposed filter is designed to meet the requirements of MTL-STD-188-125 and –220C standards. To suppress 1 st order instantaneous transient current, GDT, a surge suppression component, is employed at the input terminal of the filter. Parallel switching diodes, to suppress the 2 nd order instantaneous transient current, are added because GDT has a slow response speed and high trigger voltage. To meet the MIL-STD insertion loss specification, capacitors and inductors were selected to enhance the attenuation characteristics at frequencies other than the desired frequency band. When E1 short pulses of PCI test 1000 A, 2000 A, and 2500A for PCI test are engaged on the proposed filter, the measured residual currents are 228mA, 274mA, 292mA, respectively. The proposed filter satisfied the MIL-STD-188-125 which requires less than 1 A of residual current. Also, the proposed RF port filter has a low insertion loss of less than 1.2 dB and VSWR of less than 1.3:1 which satisfy the requirements of MIL-STD-220C insertion loss test. Thus, the proposed RF port filter is suitable for military and commercial HEMP filter applications where low residual current and low insertion loss characteristics are required against HEMP threats. 본 논문에서는 E1 High Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse 보호에 사용되는 HF(3 MHz ~ 30 MHz) 대역 RF 포트용 HEMP 보호필터를 제안하였다. MTL-STD-188-125 및 220C 규격에 대한 평가 방법에 대한 분석을 수행하고 이를 기반으로 RF 포트용 필터를 제작하였다. 필터의 입력 단에는 서지 억제 부품인 GDT를 적용하여 1차 순시과전류를 억제하였고 원하는 주파수 대역 이외의 주파수 감쇠 특성 강화 및 MIL-STD을 만족하는 삽입손실 규격을 만족하기 위하여 캐패시터 및 인덕터를 선정하여 필터를 설계하였다. 또한, GDT의 경우 응답속도가 느리고 Trigger voltage가 높으므로 스위칭 다이오드를 병렬로 추가 도입하여 잔류전류를 제거하였다. 제안된 필터에 1000 A, 2000 A, 2500A short pulse(E1) PCI 실험을 실시하였고 그결과, 제안된 HEMP 필터는 각각 228mA, 274mA, 292mA의 잔류전류가 측정되어 MIL STD-188-125 PCI 시험 규격인 1A 이하를 충분히 만족하는 것으로 나타났으며, MIL STD-220C 시험 규격을 만족하는 1.2 dB 이하의 낮은 삽입손실, VSWR 1.3:1 이하의 값을 갖는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서, 제안된 필터는 HEMP 위협에 대하여 낮은 잔류 전류 특성과 낮은 삽입손실이 요구되는 군, 민간용 HEMP 필터 어플리케이션에 활용하기 적합할 것으로 판단된다.-
