발제:서원 김문숙의 춤의 관점

남북 분단으로 인해 우리 무용의 역사를 후손에게 보존,또는 기록으로 남겨 발전시키는 작업은 한계가 있다. 유실되어버린 우리 무형문화를 밝힘에 있어 그 시대를 살아온 역사의 증인으로 서우러 김문숙의 춤의 관점을 내용으로 한다.

The start of New Dance dates back to the year of 1926. Looking back at this point, it is not such a long history. We have, however, faced the limits to detect figures who had performed and lots of documents about the dance at that time due to our miserable history; great loss of documents such as photographs, video tapes, pictures because of the war. The separation of nation and artists' exile to North Korea also caused the lack of materials, which was also resulted from poor visual aid of the time. Despite this difficulty, dance related people have been trying to build up the historical system of our dance through diversified study and documents collecting. This work will help conserve and flourish our dance and finally hand it down to our children because this is to be recorded as important documents of dance history. This study is an inquiry into dance philosophy, background and circumstance of the times of the dancer in 50's, Mun-suk Kim as known as Seowon. I referred to her contemporary dancers' words, photos and other documents. Those dancers, being over seventy now are living witness of the history. It is, therefore, very significant to try to make up for our lost dance with their help.
