dc.description.abstractCombined sewer overflows (CSOs) have been considered as a major cause of water quality deterioration of receiving stream in the vicinity of the heavily urbanized areas. The qualities of CSOs are impacted by the characteristics of the watershed. This study showed that during the first flush, the CODcr, Suspended Solid, Total Phosphorous and Total Nitrogen were 5, 6, 3 and 2 times respectively higher than the dry weather wastewater. In the bench-scale settling basin experiment for the CSOs treatment, the removal efficiency of CODcr was 10 °! 53%, and SS was 18-74% depending on the surface loading rate. Three alternatives using the stormwater pump station as a CSOs treatment were developed based on the results of the bench-scale test. It is recommended that the most feasible utilizing method for the stormwater pumping station was the diversion of the flow under predetermined CSOs flowrate from the conveyance system to storage basinen_US
