Abstract
This paper proposed the optimal shape design method of a rotary type magnetic position sensor for automobile Accel pedal. The method is capable of modeling the 3D shape of the sensor and analyzing its characteristics using equivalent circuit compensated the fringing effects. So, the 2-D equivalent model of magnetic sensor account for fringing effects is developed to optimize the shape of the permanent magnet for a linearity characteristic of the magnetic sensor and is used for the shape optimization of the PM. The validity of the developed method is confirmed by comparing the calculated values with the measured values.
