dc.description.abstractCarlo Scarpa, an architect who worked in northern Italy, properly accommodated basic elements of architecture such as - function, structure, beauty through his work. He was a local architect who pursued using the natural materials, the detail expressions and unique construction methods in structural forms and ornaments on the contrary to his contemporaries. As a result, He was not treated as an important architect to historical critics. But according to increasing the concerns of history, tradition and locality, his works were admitted as the new values. At this point, the purpose of this study was to analyze the connections between Carlo Scarpa's architectural thoughts and his characteristics of works. Therefore, through the examination of the background of his main thought on the based on the case studies of Scarpa's architectural works, the unique architectural composition methods in his works were investigated.en_US
