dc.description.abstractThe movie “Hero” directed by Zhang Yimou is a little hard to understand for most of the foreigners. The reason why is that the story is based on Chinese culture somewhat delicately, especially artistic mind of fencing and calligraphy, containing traditional morality. But, it is more focus on the ideological unity than the others. Mainly, this article analyzes several scenes of “Hero”, can be misunderstood by foreigners from Chinese cultural point of view. It also finds out how Chinese history, thought and art are reflected and adopted to the movie. Moreover, it reasons about the implicit meanings of politics and society. We can make sure that massculture including movies is reflected or applied to the history, thought and traditional art of countries. At the same time, depending on the producing environment and director s change of attitude with delicate, we can realize through “Hero” that it penetrates government s dominate ideology ingeniously.en_US
