dc.description.abstractTo investigate the photodegradability and biodegradability of aliphatic polyesters containing the 2-oxoglutaric acid moeity poly(butylene succinate-co-oxoglutarate) [PBSOG] was synthesized from the polymerization of 1,4-butanediol [HDI], succinic acid [SA],and2-oxoglutaric acid [2-OGA]; poly(hexylene succinate-co-oxoglutarate) was prepared by the polymerization of 1,6-hexanediol [HD], SA, and 2-OGA. In GPC measurement PHSOG exhibited less thermostablity than that of PHS. In photodegradation PHSOG and PBSOG having 2-oxoglutaric acid moeity showed slightly increasing of photodegradation rate. In hydrolysis of polyesters in buffer solution hydrolysis rates of PBS and PBSOG were very slow in neutral and acid solution, but that of PBS and PBSOG in pH 12 buffer solution inclosed steeply. The weight of PBS was reduced to 22% and that of PBSOG up to 37% after 800 hours in pH 12 buffer solutionen_US
