As a communication channel for individuals, Soocial-media is affecting various areas including business, economy, politics, society, and others. One of the less studied areas is law. In this regard, this study gathered various information from internet news and scrutinized its influence on the legal sentencing, especially the Supreme Court decisions of South Korea. This study was conducted by compiling information about Internet news articles and public responses afterwards and found that the higher the negative reactions from the public, the shorter the Juri span until the supreme court final decisions. However, the impacts on either dismissal were not statistically significant. Our study is meaningful in that it has collected various information on social media and has tried to measure the impacts in the field of law. It is also meaningful that the legal actions have been analyzed from a big data perspective and thus has been analyzed in a completely different approach from conventional qualitative studies. In addition, this process has enabled us to create a new data base, which has room for use not only in the academic field, but also in the practical field of legal technology that is emerging today.-
