풀랑 《클라리넷과 피아노를 위한 소나타》를 통한 신고전주의의 재고

Abstract

풀랑의 《클라리넷과 피아노를 위한 소나타》는 고전적인 형식의 사용에 근거하여 이제까지 신고전주의의 대표적인 작품으로 해석되어 왔다. 하지만 그러한 형식을 통해 만들어내고자 하는 목적은 작곡가마다 다르다. 본 논문에서는 고전적인 형식의 사용 자체가 아닌 이를 통해 풀랑이 어떤 효과를 만들어내는지에 집중하여 작품을 분석하였다. 작품에는 해학이라는 웃음의 요소를 적용하는데 해학은 이야기가 흐름에 맞게 흘러가기보단 형식에서 벗어나고 틀을 깨버리면서 나타난다. 풀랑이 《클라리넷과 피아노를 위한 소나타》에서 해학을 표현할 때 사용하는 특징은 크게 세 가지로 정리할 수 있다. 첫째는 변박을 사용하여 선율의 진행을 갑작스럽게 마무리하는 것이다. 청자들은 갑작스럽게 마무리된 선율의 형태에서 혼란을 느끼게 되는데 이때 풀랑은 바로 다음 선율을 등장시키면서 한 번 더 틀을 깨고 해학적인 상황을 만든다. 두 번째 특징은 주로 약박에서 악센트를 강조하고 악센트의 간격을 불규칙한 패턴으로 진행하는 점이다. 그러므로 마치 강박과 약박의 위치를 바꾸는 듯한 효과를 주어 흐름을 예측할 수 없게 한다. 마지막으로 숨표를 사용하여 주제를 단절시키는 동시에 분위기 전환을 암시한다. 세 가지 특징이 동시에 사용될 때 해학적인 효과는 더욱 강조된다. 풀랑의 《클라리넷과 피아노를 위한 소나타》는 청자들에게 익숙한 고전적인 형식을 따르지만, 거기에 그치지 않고 위의 요소들과 융합시켜 기존 형식의 틀을 깨버림으로써 그만의 해학적인 효과를 만들어낸다.; Francis Poulenc's Sonata for Clarinet and Piano has been interpreted as a neoclassical work based on the use of classical forms. However, the purpose of creating through those is different for each composer. In this paper, the work was analyzed focusing on what effect the Poulenc produces through the use of classical form itself. Here, the element of laughter called humor is applied. The humor emerges from the form rather than flowing according to the flow and breaks the frame. The features used to express humor in the Poulenc's 《Sonata for Clarinet and Piano》 can be broadly divided into three categories. The first is to abruptly finish the progress of the melody by using the irregular time. Listeners suddenly feel confused in the form of melody, which is finished suddenly, and Poulenc breaks the frame once more and creates a humorous situation by appearing the next melody. The second feature is that the accent is emphasized in the weak beat and the interval of the accent is progressed in an irregular pattern. Therefore, it gives the effect as if changing the position of the strong beat and the weak beat, making the flow unpredictable. Lastly, the use of breathing mark to cut off the subject while suggesting a change of mood. The humorous effect is further emphasized when the three features are used simultaneously. Poulenc's Sonata for Clarinet and Piano follows the classical form familiar to listeners, but it does not stop there, but fuses with the above elements to break the frame of the existing form, creating his own humorous effect.
