dc.description.abstractThe emerging field of quantum optical technology requires the development of new types of light sources: quantum light sources. Especially, a single photon emitter which can precisely produce a photon at a specific time is demanded in a range of proposed schemes of quantum information, quantum computing, and quantum metrology. The single photon emission can be found from variety materials such as single molecules, defects center in crystalline structures, and quantum dots (QDs), etc. Among them, semiconductor nanocrystals (or QDs) have attracted keen interest due to their appealing optical and electronic properties. In recent years, lead halide perovskite quantum dots (PQDs) have attracted much attention due to their high performance in light emitting diodes (LEDs) and photovoltaic (PV) devices. In addition, PQDs have been also demonstrated as a high purity single photon source. However, their blinking and degradation in time can restrict their potential applications. Therefore, many efforts are ongoing to solve these problems as well as to understand the unveiled properties of PQDs. In this regard, we particularly investigate the optical and photophysical properties of single formamidinium lead bromide perovskite quantum dots (FAPbBr3 PQDs) utilizing a custom-built single-dot spectroscopy combined with time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) technique.
