객실승무원의 표면 연기/내면 연기가 감정소진에 미치는 영향 : 승객, 동료, 가족 간의 관계를 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 항공사에 종사하는 객실승무원들의 표면 연기와 내면 연기가 감정소진과 자존감, 직무 열의에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 특히 기존 연구와 달리 본 연구에서는 표면 연기와 내면 연 기 대상을 승객, 동료에서 가족으로 확장하여 살펴보았다. 2018년 12월 1일부터 2019년 2월 28일까 지 3개월동안 국내 항공사에 근무하는 기혼 객실승무원을 대상으로 총 300부의 설문지를 배포하였으 며, 그중 총 293부의 유효한 설문지을 조사에 사용하였다. SPSS Statistics 23.0 소프트웨어 프로그 램을 이용하여 회귀분석 결과 승객, 동료, 가족들에 대한 표면 연기는 객실승무원의 감정을 소진시키 는 반면 승객과 동료에 대한 내면 연기는 감정소진과 유의한 관계가 없었다. 또한, 가족들에 대한 내 면 연기는 오히려 감정소진과 부(-)의 관계에 있었다. 객실승무원의 감정소진은 자존감에 부정적인 영향을 미치지는 않았으나, 직무 열의에는 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구를 통해 객실승무원이 표 면적으로 감정노동을 수행하는 것은, 대상에 상관없이 감정과 직장에 대한 태도에 부정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 점을 확인할 수 있었다. 반면, 기혼 객실승무원의 가족에 대한 내면 연기는 감정소진 을 막고, 더 나아가 직무 열의에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 점을 확인했다는 점에서 실무적 시 사점이 있으며, 일과 가정의 양립이 중요하다는 것을 실증적으로 증명했다는 점에서 큰 의의가 있다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of surface acting and deep acting on emotional exhaustion, self-esteem, and enthusiasm of cabin crews engaged in airlines. In this study, unlike previous studies, the objects of surface acting and deep acting are extended to passengers, colleagues, and family members. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed to married cabin crews working on domestic airlines from February 1, 2019 to April 30, 2019, and a total of 292 valid questionnaires were used for the survey analyses. The results of regression analysis showed that surface acting on passengers, colleagues, and family members exhausted the feelings of the cabin crew, while deep acting on passengers and colleagues did not have a significant effect on emotional exhaustion. In addition, deep acting for the family had a negative impact on emotional exhaustion. Emotional exhaustion did notsignificantly affect self-esteem, but it had a negative effect on enthusiasm for work. This study confirms that the cabin crew performing surface acting can feel negative emotions and have negative attitudes toward work. On the other hand, deep acting for the family members can prevent cabin crews’ emotional exhaustion and so, positively affect enthusiasm for the job. This research provides practical implications that work and family can be reconciled by maintaining sincerely positive relationships with them.
